Get to Know Your Team: 

  • UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region’s only EMCO program and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

Performs ultrasound procedures for all ages by utilizing imaging modalities in order to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. Subject to overtime and call back as required by the hospital.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Eligible.
  • Qualified second year student from an Allied Health Echocardiography program doing PRN work only and has been proctored and signed off by the Echo Coordinator.
  • Knowledge and ability to operate equipment and perform ultrasound procedures.
  • One year experience hands-on technical skills.
  • Knowledge and use of all diagnostic ultrasound equipment.
  • Ability to use equipment without direct supervision.
  • Independent use of clinical knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of safety use, handling and storage of advanced sterilization products.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Echo registered in RDCS or RCS within six (6) months of hire date.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Allied Health degree in performing Echocardiography studies.
