The Accountant II is responsible for conducting accounting operations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for accounting entities or special projects conducted by EDEN. This position works closely with all departments within the agency as well as our partners to ensure compliance with all programs and audit requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Assists Accounting Manager with preparation of annual budgets for cost centers and other funds as assigned. Provides actual vs. variance explanations monthly to respective Accounting Manager for cost centers.
  2. Prepares and reviews monthly billings for contracts.
  3. Prepares and maintains electronic files for all contract billing.
  4. Responsible for monthly accounting for EDEN owned properties, including preparation of month-end financial statements
  5. Prepares and reviews with Accounting Manager monthly financial reports and forecasting schedules
  6. Manages accruals, prepaids, and deferred revenue for assigned properties
  7. Reviews and manages property insurance invoices; allocates invoices across all entities and prepares annual allocation sheet for all other accountants in the department.
  8. Assists with Construction accounting.
  9. Manages EDEN monthly credit card spreadsheet and prepares the invoice for A/P posting each month.
  10. Tracking of various inventory items and allocation of expenses to appropriate cost centers
  11. Performs monthly bank reconciliations as assigned.
  12. Works closely with Accounting Manager to monitor spending, compliance, and the need for budget modifications various contracts...
  13. Oversees timely and accurate general ledger accounting in accordance with GAAP and EDEN's policies, including:
    1. Monthly internal financial statement procedures
    2. EDEN's Cost Allocation Policy
  14. Assists the CFO and Accounting Manager in the preparation of audit workpapers requested during the organization's annual audit.
  15. Other Duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and five years of accounting experience in public accounting or industry preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; talk or hear, in person, in meetings and by telephone; use hands to handle, feel, or operate standard office equipment; use fingers to type; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; and perform other motions including bending and stooping. The nature of work requires the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. The ability to drive a motorized vehicle is also required. WORKING CONDITIONS

The majority of this job's duties are performed at headquarters although the job requires occasional local travel to off-site locations and/or meetings. The majority of work is performed in a climate-controlled general office environment with minimal noise. Hours of work may exceed normal business hours during peak periods. Potential job conditions include eyestrain from extensive computer use.
