We are looking for a talented General Operator II – 2nd Shift to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in York, SC

 

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently to produce high-quality products that meet customer specifications and production requirements. 

  • Contribute to a strong safety culture by following HSE standards, using proper PPE, identifying hazards, and taking proactive steps to prevent incidents. 

  • Ensure product quality by adhering to standard work instructions, performing inspections, utilizing quality tools such as SPC and poka-yoke, and identifying non-conforming material. 

  • Achieve production goals by consistently meeting cycle time requirements, maintaining productivity standards, and supporting operational performance objectives. 

  • Maintain equipment reliability through routine operator care, machine cleaning, basic maintenance activities, and timely reporting of equipment issues. 

  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, material flow, and overall manufacturing processes. 

  • Collaborate effectively with team members, skilled trades, and support functions to resolve issues, minimize downtime, and maintain smooth production operations. 

  • Demonstrate flexibility and a commitment to growth by completing training, developing job skills, and supporting changing business and production needs.

  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and support staff to ensure production goals, quality expectations, and safety requirements are clearly understood and executed.

  • Demonstrate accountability by consistently following standard work, meeting production targets, maintaining quality standards, and taking ownership of your responsibilities.

  • Drive results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment by staying focused, productive, and committed to meeting cycle times, production schedules, and customer expectations.

  • Champion health and safety practices by identifying hazards, following HSE procedures, using proper PPE, and contributing to a safe and injury-free workplace.

  • Apply manufacturing knowledge and technical skills to operate equipment effectively, troubleshoot issues, support process improvements, and maintain high levels of productivity and quality.

  • Value diverse perspectives and demonstrate courage by respectfully sharing ideas, addressing concerns when they arise, and collaborating with others to improve team performance and operational success.

    Education, Licenses, Certifications: 
    High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
    This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. 

    Experience: 
    Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
