Job DetailsJob Location: CO - Administration Office - Yakima, WA 98902Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $80,000.00 - $82,000.00 Salary/yearPosition Summary:  The Maintenance Supervisor oversees daily facilities operations, hands-on mechanical and plumbing repairs, and overall building care. This position directly supervises the Maintenance/Inventory Coordinator, ensuring seamless coordination between project execution, inventory management, tool tracking, and material sourcing. The role manages work priorities and ensures all operations comply with institutional regulations, safety codes, EPIC guidelines, and Office of Head Start Performance Standards.   Essential Job Functions: •    Direct Supervision: Lead, mentor, and oversee the Maintenance/Inventory Coordinator, evaluating performance, directing daily task delegation, and managing workflow priorities. •    Partner with the Maintenance/Inventory Coordinator to monitor stock levels, organize tool and material inventory, streamline purchasing, and track job supplies against estimates. •    Prioritize work requests and facility projects; assemble material and time estimates; ensure all work aligns with EPIC guidelines and Office of Head Start Performance Standards. •    System Installation: Install water, waste, and vent piping systems; install sanitary facilities including toilets, lavatories, tubs, kitchen/bathroom fixtures, and drinking fountains. •    Repair, maintain, and test plumbing and piping systems. Inspect and diagnose system failures while ensuring code compliance. •    Preventive Maintenance: Replace water filters bi-annually and maintain water heaters for continuous operation. •    Operates drain cleaning equipment, pressure washing, waste lines and laundry equipment; installs and maintains water heaters. •    Repairs, maintains, and tests plumbing and other piping systems; inspects and diagnoses malfunctions; ensures that systems comply with appropriate codes; clears plugged waste lines.  •    Prioritizes work projects; provides information used to prepare materials and time estimates for jobs; ensures that all work is done in accordance with EPIC guidelines and Office of Head Start Performance Standards. •    Install bathroom hardware including towel racks, paper holders, shelves, mirrors, cabinets, liquid soap piping, tanks, and valves. •    Electrical Maintenance: Replace outlets, fluorescent ballasts, light bulbs, and perform LED retrofits. •    Inspect HVAC units, manage thermostat settings, and oversee filter locations and replacement routines. •    Maintain lawn sprinkler systems, including piping, fittings, valves, and sprinkler heads. •    Perform general carpentry, drywall patching, and painting. •    Special Equipment: Operate and direct the maintenance of floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, and related building maintenance machinery. •    Maintain a strict standard of OSHA compliance, SDS tracking, material handling, and mandatory PPE usage across the maintenance team. •    Troubleshoot and resolve unexpected facility emergencies and structural issues under tight timelines. •    Coordinate and direct room setup/takedown for meetings and events.  •    Assist in plowing, snow blowing, and seasonal de-icing operations. Cleared Portable background check through the Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) and/or fingerprinting check/WA State Patrol criminal background check when required. Complete child abuse and neglect training and all other mandated training. Prior to employment, complete an initial health exam by an EPIC Health Care Provider and a TB skin test, at no cost to the employee. Provide proof of MMR vaccination and/or resistance to Measles, Mumps & Rubella. CEO approval.  Qualifications1.    Working knowledge of lawn sprinkler systems, including piping, fittings, sprinkler heads, and valves.  2.    Working knowledge of electrical systems; replace outlets, replace fluorescent ballasts and light bulbs, perform LED retrofits. 3.    Working knowledge of HVAC systems, thermostats, and filter location and replacement.   4.    Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards, material handling and SDS Sheets, and proper use of PPE. 5.    Operate and maintain floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, and other equipment related to building maintenance. 6.    Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in a time sensitive manner. 7.    General knowledge of carpentry, drywall repair and painting.  8.    Move and set up equipment and materials for meetings and other special events.
