Summary:


Perform the month end closing process and prepares financial analyses of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management. This position is responsible for adherence to GAAP accounting and maintaining a strong internal control environment.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Perform the monthly closing process including journal entry preparation and approval for the business unit.
  • Ensures all accounting is handled in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports and statements.
  • Prepare or approve reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts, and variance analysis. 
  • Generate the monthly financial statements and other financial reports for the month-end financial package.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for the business unit.
  • Responsible for payroll analysis and accounting of the business unit
  • Maintain Fixed Asset records and ensure transactions and related depreciation are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Ensure that established accounting policies and procedures are adhered to and participate in the revision or development of policies.
  • Generate daily cash and other periodic management reports.
  • Reconcile all bank accounts monthly and investigate and resolve any reconciling items.
  • Prepare necessary analyses and assist in the coordination of the year-end audit.
  • Assist in the year-end audit and other Finance activities/projects including process improvement initiatives.
  • Ad hoc requests.
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

 

Education: Bachelor degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience in a similar environment

                  CPA Required

 

Experience: Five (5) years relevant general accounting and payroll experience

                    Working knowledge and experience with Business Central and Ramp preferred
