Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Greater King of Prussia is looking for an experienced Service Plumber / Sales Technician who knows plumbing, communicates well with homeowners, and wants the opportunity to earn significantly more based on performance.

You do not need to be an experienced salesperson.

If you are a strong service plumber who can diagnose problems, explain solutions clearly, and earn a customer's trust, we can help you develop the sales side of the business.

This is a hybrid role combining service plumbing, diagnostics, customer consultation and sales. As you demonstrate your ability to sell larger projects, we'll increasingly route those opportunities to you while our production team handles much of the installation work.

We provide the customers. No cold calling. No door knocking.

Compensation

$1,000/Week Guaranteed + Uncapped Commission

What Could You Earn?

Target earnings: $80,000–$120,000+

High-performing technicians have the opportunity to earn $130,000–$150,000+.

Earnings examples are illustrative and are not guaranteed. Commission and performance bonuses are based on collected revenue and applicable profitability, quality, documentation and performance requirements.

Your existing compensation philosophy already makes commission contingent on collected revenue and margin/performance standards, so I would preserve those protections in the actual compensation agreement rather than cluttering the recruiting ad with them.

$5,000 Signing & Retention Bonus

Qualified experienced hires are eligible for a $5,000 bonus, paid as:

$2,500 after 6 months of continuous employment

$2,500 after 12 months of continuous employment

Employee must be actively employed and in good standing on the applicable payment date. Additional terms and eligibility requirements will be provided with the employment offer.

What You'll Do

You'll run company-provided residential plumbing opportunities throughout the Greater King of Prussia and Montgomery County area.

You'll diagnose the problem, educate the homeowner, develop appropriate options and help the customer decide on the solution that's right for their home.

Your work may include:

• Residential plumbing service and diagnostics
• Drain and sewer diagnostics
• Sewer camera inspections
• Water heater and tankless water heater consultations
• Sewer repair and replacement opportunities
• Trenchless sewer and pipe-lining opportunities
• Water service replacements
• Whole-home or partial repiping
• Excavation-related plumbing projects
• Plumbing system upgrades
• Second opinions and larger estimates
• Following up on previously unsold estimates

You may perform service work yourself when appropriate.

For larger projects, your responsibility may primarily be to diagnose, scope and sell the project, with another member of our team completing the installation.

That means the better you become at identifying and selling larger solutions, the more your role can shift toward higher-value customer consultations.

You Don't Have to Be a Salesperson

We're not looking for someone who uses high-pressure sales tactics.

We're looking for a plumber who can walk into a customer's home, understand the problem, communicate confidently and earn trust.

If you already have sales experience, that's excellent.

If you don't, but you're the plumber customers naturally like talking to and you know how to explain why something should be repaired or replaced, we want to talk to you.

We'll help you develop skills in:

• Presenting repair and replacement options
• Building value instead of competing only on price
• Financing conversations
• Handling customer concerns
• Following up on estimates
• Selling larger plumbing projects
• Creating long-term customer relationships

What We're Looking For

The right person will have solid residential plumbing knowledge and the ability to work independently.

We'd especially like to meet candidates who have:

• Residential service plumbing experience
• Strong diagnostic skills
• Experience working directly with homeowners
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to explain technical problems in simple language
• Confidence discussing pricing with customers
• Professional appearance and attitude
• Strong work ethic and personal accountability
• Willingness to learn our sales and customer-service process
• Comfort using mobile technology and service software
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Experience with sewer cameras, drain cleaning, water heaters, tankless systems, sewer replacements, excavation, repiping or trenchless sewer repair is highly desirable.

Formal sales experience is not required.

This is not a door-to-door sales position.

Mr. Rooter generates customer opportunities through our existing customer base, marketing, referrals and other company channels.

Your job is to take care of the customer in front of you, identify legitimate plumbing needs, explain the available solutions and ask for the business.
