Maintenance Mechanic - Project Team, OPERS Retirement Eligible

MAIN FUNCTION: Â Â Â Â
Assists in keeping the physical structure and associated equipment of the Hospital in good repair. Â Electrical, mechanical, plumbing and maintenance repairs related duties are of prime importance.

RESPONSIBLE TO:Â Â Â Director/Manager, Facility/Maintenance
Â
MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3-5 years’ experience in general mechanical maintenance.Â
- Strong fundamental mechanical ability.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally work at heights greater than 20 feet.
- Valid Ohio Driver's License.Â
- No written disciplinary action within the last 12 months.Â
Â
PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES:
- Extensive commercial experience working with both high- and low-voltage electrical systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Strong working knowledge of DNV, CMS, and NFPA requirements.Â
- 2-year technical degree.
- Clean driving record.Â

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Employees in this position may be:
- Exposed to blood, body fluids and/or airborne pathogens and are required to wear personal protective equipment.
- Exposure to dust, variable temperatures, and long or varied hours (due to emergencies).
- Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, turn, crouch, and bend as necessary to complete tasks.
- Subject to Short Term Hours Reduction according to policy.

RESPONSIBILITES:
- Ability to be self-directed in executing responsibilities within a team structure.
- Performs minor electrical installation and repairs as needed.
- Performs basic carpentry as needed.
- Performs mechanical repairs of equipment.
- Performs minor plumbing installation and repairs as needed.
- Performs preventative maintenance to buildings and equipment as required.
- Maintains departmental equipment, and material inventory.
- Responsible for all house wide and departmental polices/procedures.
- Ability to respond to all emergency codes.Â
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Follows Appropriate Service Standards.
- Participates in departmental meetings and training as required.
