We are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician to join us at our facility in Orrville, OH.  

The Maintenance Technician will maintain plant electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical systems to support production. Oversee installation of new equipment or upgrades to existing systems. Operate & maintain equipment, air compressors, nitrogen generators, cooling water systems, and shop equipment.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday: 6 AM to 4:30 PM (Occasional Fridays as business needs)

Sign-On Bonus of $1500 ($750 paid at 3 months, $750 paid at 6 months)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • A Maintenance Technician must be flexible and able to work well in a fast-paced environment.  He or she should be competent in handling simultaneously occurring tasks and have excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Basic PLC knowledge and troubleshooting 
  • Welding, pipefitting, millwright work
  • Complete work orders as prioritized by Production Manager
  • Performs all duties in a safe working manner, following all of Axalta’s safety policies and procedures.
  • Climbing on and work from fixed and portable ladders while wearing safety harness.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment problems.
  • Troubleshoot and emergency repairs to powered material handling equipment and ventilation systems.
  • Calibrate and operate instrumentation equipment
  • Complete work orders as prioritized by Maintenance Planner
  • Continually inspects plant equipment and related facilities.
  • Locate areas in need of repair, determine necessary repairs and performs work as appropriate or reports problems to supervisor.
  • Maintains work logs, inventory and equipment control records and preventive maintenance records.
  • Installing plant equipment
  • Required to wear respiratory protection equipment and work in confined spaces.
  • Performs regular preventive maintenance to plant equipment such as greasing valves, pumps, pneumatics and making minor equipment adjustments while climbing ladders, and on/around machinery such as conveyors and packers.
  • Manage hazardous waste according to site policy, area specific procedures and training.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 1 year relevant maintenance experience in a similar production environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to self-manage and adapt quickly to changing demands.
  • Ability to operate safely and within site guidelines.
  • Knowledge of function-specific information systems
  • Ability to kneel, squat, bend, crawl, reach, and negotiate small spaces.
  • Ability to successfully complete maintenance test
  • Satisfactory background screening, drug screen, Medical clearance to wear a respirator, and satisfactory results in pre-employment tests.
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hand(s) and arm(s), stoop, use hands and fingers to handle and/or feel; The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to perform by repetition. The employee must routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment: While performing this job; the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, exposure to hot, cold, and/or humid conditions, because of weather outdoors.

The expected compensation range for this position is $32 - 34/hour.
