Security Supervisor

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Security Supervisor. In this role, responsibilities include assisting the Security Director in ensuring the safety and security of guests, associates and the property. Security supervisor is responsible to supervise the training, working and performance of Security Guards and ensure compliance on safety & security policies of the hotel.

You’ll maintain a safe workplace and secure environment for guests, while also enabling team members to perform their duties with confidence and peace of mind.

 

Starting Rate: $22-$24/hour

 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Efficiently supervise and manage the Security Guards during his/her shift.
  • Train Security Guards in all laid down drills & procedures related to safety & security standards in the hotel.
  • Maintain and update all training records as directed by the Director.
  • Ensure maintenance and upkeep of all security related equipment in the department.
  • Bring into the notice of the Director any security breach by any associate in the hotel.
  • Pin point the faults in any equipment to engineering and ensure fault rectification.
  • Maintain active relationship with local Police Station, Fire Station and nearest Hospital.
  • Deploy Security Guards during his Shift.
  • Provide the utmost in confidentiality with every action taken, verbally and written to protect the rights of guests, associates, and Kalahari Resorts.

 

What We’re Looking For 

  • Required to be certified as an unarmed security officer through the Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS).
  • Must be able to write, read, and speak English as a first language.  Bi-lingual skills are helpful but not required.
  • Previous law enforcement or military preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to have and maintain CPR / AED Certification.
  • 1-2 years in a security role, preferred.
  • Hotel or Resort experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to deal effectively with internal and external guests, some of whom will require levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.
  • Must be able to work with and understand security camera systems and the basic security programs on the computer.
