About Site

Catalent’s Winchester, KY site is the company’s flagship U.S. manufacturing location for large‑scale oral solid dose forms, operating from a 180,000‑square‑foot facility with fully integrated development and analytical services. The site specializes in complex and controlled‑release oral dose technologies, supporting product development, technology transfer, and commercial manufacturing across pharmaceutical and consumer health programs. Winchester has a long commercial manufacturing track record, having launched 100+ products and producing billions of tablets and capsules annually, making it a critical site within Catalent’s oral dose network.

Position Summary

We have an opportunity for a Production Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will oversee daily production activities and ensure that safety, quality, and performance standards are met. You will work closely with your team to maintain compliance, drive productivity, and support continuous improvement. This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Shift: 6 PM - 6 AM 2-2-3 schedule
Location: Winchester, KY
100% Onsite

The Role

  • Ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Costs are monitored and managed to meet site-specific metrics

  • Train and support Process Leaders, Operators, and Direct Reports to perform their jobs accurately and effectively

  • Manage personnel issues including Paid Time Off, medical leave, disciplinary actions, and dispute resolution

  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment

  • Manage E-time and maintain accurate payroll records for the Accounting Department

  • Identify employee development needs and support continuous training programs

  • Communicate performance goals and requirements to production teams

  • Drive productivity improvements while maintaining high quality standards

  • Reduce unplanned deviations and improve first pass quality

  • Support processing investigation analysis and manage batch record revisions

  • Ensure labs operate under Good Manufacturing Practice conditions and Standard Operating Procedures

  • Collaborate with Production Managers, Materials, Planners, Technical Writers, and other teams to meet timelines and achieve results

  • Perform other duties as required to support high performance

The Candidate

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of manufacturing or related experience; OR High school diploma/GED with 6+ years of manufacturing experience

  • Ability to anticipate processing steps and allocate resources to meet production schedules

  • Ability to analyze production output and take corrective actions when needed

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Subject matter expertise for assigned shift and areas of responsibility

  • Ability to provide immediate performance feedback to machine operators

  • Ability to interact with on-site customers or their representatives

  • Ability to discuss SQDC board information with site management

  • Perform advanced math calculations, such as determining active pharmaceutical ingredient amounts

  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures (Standard Operating Procedures, current Good Manufacturing Practices)

  • Commitment to working safely

  • Legible handwriting and proficient reading and comprehension skills

  • Ability to make decisions based on historical and analytical data

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines

  • Individual may be required to stand for an extended period of time

  • Specific vision requirements include reading written documents and frequent use of a computer monitor

  • Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent‑sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.

Preferred Skills & Background

  • 2+ years of supervisory or management experience preferred

  • Experience in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or 5S preferred
