Join a Growing Dental Team

Wilmington Family Dental is looking for an experienced, dependable Massachusetts Registered Dental Assistant to join our growing clinical team.

This is a great opportunity for a Dental Assistant who enjoys variety, teamwork, and working in a busy, modern dental practice. You'll support both general dentistry and assisted hygiene, working alongside multiple providers and team members while helping keep patient care running smoothly throughout the day.

We're expanding our assistant team and are looking for someone who is ready to become an integral part of a collaborative practice where everyone pitches in, supports one another, and takes pride in delivering an exceptional patient experience.

We are targeting a mid September start so the new team member can receive 2–3 weeks of onboarding, shadowing, and training before our team expands in October.

What You'll Do

Your responsibilities will vary throughout the day based on the needs of our patients and providers. You'll have opportunities to work in both general dentistry and assisted hygiene, while also helping the team with clinical flow and practice operations.

General Dentistry

  • Provide chairside assistance during examinations, restorative procedures, crown and bridge, extractions, and other general dentistry procedures
  • Prepare operatories, instruments, materials, and patients for treatment
  • Anticipate the dentist's needs and efficiently pass instruments and materials
  • Prepare, mix, and place dental materials as permitted by Massachusetts regulations
  • Take diagnostic digital radiographs and other records within the scope of your licensure
  • Assist with nitrous oxide administration when applicable
  • Document treatment accurately in the patient's record
  • Maintain laboratory cases and ensure cases are available when needed

Assisted Hygiene

  • Assist the hygienist with patient flow and efficient appointment turnover
  • Prepare and break down operatories
  • Take diagnostic digital radiographs
  • Update medical and dental histories and patient records
  • Reinforce oral hygiene and preventive care instructions
  • Help patients feel comfortable, informed, and cared for throughout their visit

Team & Clinical Support

  • Maintain sterilization and infection-control procedures
  • Complete required sterilization monitoring and documentation
  • Assist with compliance and regulatory responsibilities
  • Help maintain dental supply inventory and organization
  • Support the team with overflow needs throughout the day
  • Participate in daily morning huddles
  • Help maintain clean, organized, fully stocked operatories
  • Assist with emergencies according to office protocols
  • Perform other clinical and team-support duties as needed

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is clinically confident, dependable, positive, and genuinely enjoys being part of a team.
