Job Title:   Coupling Phosphate Line Supervisor / Lead   

Department:  Coupling Phosphate Line 

Reports To:  Plant Manager / COO

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assuring the set-up, operation, inspection and maintenance of the organization’s coupling phosphate line. The candidate must also keep track of phosphate supplies and inventories in conjunction with chemical technician. The candidate must also support the Coupling Paint Line and perform chemical testing and regulation, when needed. Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral and/or schedule format. 

AUTHORITY: Lead individual has authority over no other employee but may ask others within the department assigned to assist them with tasks.  Supervisor has authority over employees assigned to coupling phosphate / paint lines. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (include but are not limited to):   

 Training personnel in the Coupling Phosphate Department 

 Inspection of product and equipment 

 Phosphate and supply inventory 

 Maintain records for waste streams and reporting 

 Wastewater operation and phosphate waste treatment 

 Assist in compliance of applicable laws and regulations 

 Observe safety regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourages safe working practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to appropriate personnel 

 Comply with all Company procedures and policies 

 Helping to ensure cleanliness of department 

 Provide technical and process support to manufacturing and quality groups 

 Assist with corrective and preventive actions 

 Assist with audits and continually improve the API Quality Management System 

 Hands on interaction with manufacturing process control 

 Maintain a clean and safe work area 

 Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager and COO 

 Arriving at work on time for every scheduled shift 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

 Associates degree or equivalent experience 

 Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions, and procedures 

 Ability to write routine daily reports and correspondence as necessary and to request additional support as needed 

 Manufacturing industry and/or testing experience desirable 

 Ability to enter data into a computer (MS Access, Word, Excel, etc.) at its discretion can provide additional training in the appropriate areas for job qualification. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 

A valid Driver’s License is required. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:   While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The associate frequently is required to sit, walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to support production needs. The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 45 pounds.   

WORK ENVIRONMENT:   

 Production paced operation to support customer (internal and external) demands. 

 Supporting production changes as needed.   

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:   

 Must be 18 years of age or older. 

 Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. 

 Must maintain an orderly, clean and safe work area and properly care for Company and Customer property.
