TheĀ Lead TeacherĀ willĀ be responsible forĀ implementing curriculumĀ in a classroom ofĀ 17-20Ā children,Ā maintainingĀ compliance with Head Start Performance standards, and partnering with a multi-disciplinary team to provide the best service to our Head Start Families.Ā Ā

COMPENSATION:Ā
Hiring Range:Ā $53,500-$56,500Ā for ten months of work, to be paid over 12 monthsĀ
Staff that are fluent in a language other than English may be eligible forĀ additionalĀ compensation of $1,500 annually for use of bi-lingual skills.Ā

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Ā
The Lead TeacherĀ is responsible for:āÆĀ
Partnering with a multi-disciplinary team including mental health specialists, special education professionals, and family support workers to provide the best service for our families including home visits, family conferences, and implementation of Individual Education PlansāÆāÆĀ
CreatingĀ andĀ implementingĀ developmentallyĀ appropriate lessonĀ plans, including activities geared toward social-emotional development andĀ utilizingĀ trauma informed care practicesāÆbased inĀ CreativeĀ CurriculumĀ
Working with your teaching teamĀ to ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards within the classroom including education, disabilities, parent involvement, nutrition,Ā healthĀ and mental health, etc.āÆāÆĀ
Conducting observations, administering development, social, and emotional screenings, andĀ maintainingĀ clear and complete documentationāÆāÆāÆĀ
Actively supervising childrenāÆāÆĀ
Supporting peers by collaborating and sharing experiences to finding solutions togetherāÆĀ

QUALIFICATIONS:āÆāÆĀ
To qualify, a candidate must meetāÆoneāÆof the three bullets listed below:āÆĀ
Experience: a minimum of twoĀ yearsāĀ work-relatedĀ experience teaching preschool age children.Ā Ā
Education:Ā a bachelorās degree in child development,early childhood education (ECE), or related fieldĀ
Equivalency Rule: Those with an associate degree inĀ child development or early childhood education (ECE)Ā AND a minimum ofĀ threeĀ yearsĀ work related experience, OR a high school diploma or GED AND a minimum of five years of work-related experience teaching preschool age children.Ā Ā

Must have a valid driver's license, if you are from out of state, you must obtain a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire date and you must not have any major violations, nor more than one DUI, DWI,āÆDWAIāÆconviction in the past three years. āÆĀ
Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends, and willingness to occasionally travel to assigned Head Start Sites (Arvada or Wheat Ridge).āÆĀ
