Position Title: Manager, Personal Lines

Department: GIA

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Westfield Office-4 days in-office; Wednesdays remote)

Bilingual: Perferred not required-Bilingual employees are eligible to receive a stipend in addition to the posted pay range below after completing a proficiency test.

Sign on bonus: $1,500.00 sign on bonus available for full-time employment. Eligibility for the bonus is $500 after successful completion of onboarding/training to be paid with two months of service, and $1,000 after 6 months of continued full-time satisfactory service.

The Manager, Personal Lines leads and manages the Personal Lines team to achieve production goals, deliver exceptional customer service, and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory standards. Oversees staff development, operational efficiency, and relationship management with carriers, Greylock Federal Credit Union partners, and the community.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

 

30%

Lead, mentor, and develop the Personal Lines team by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, providing coaching, and ensuring adherence to company policies, underwriting guidelines, and compliance requirements.


25%

Manage customer relationships by ensuring accurate policy service, addressing escalated issues, and delivering high-quality service to maintain satisfaction and retention.


20%

Maintain and service a small personal lines book of business, including policy changes, inquiries, policy issuance, and educating customers on coverage.


10%

Drive achievement of personal lines production goals by supporting account managers in generating new business, assisting with quoting, and implementing sales strategies.


5%

Coordinate with operations, underwriting, and marketing teams to implement product changes, maintain carrier relationships, and communicate updates to staff.


5%

Foster relationships with Greylock Federal Credit Union employees promote referrals and enhance member experience through cross-selling opportunities.


5%

Represent Greylock Insurance Agency in civic and community organizations to promote services, strengthen partnerships, and identify new business opportunities.

  1. Personal lines production goals are met or exceeded.
  2. Staff performance meets established service, compliance, and sales benchmarks.
  3. Customer retention rates remain high through proactive service and relationship management.
  4. Carrier and internal partner relationships are maintained and leveraged for business growth.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: 3 years of insurance services experience, including supervisory responsibilities preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specialized coursework/training.
Licenses/Certifications: Appropriate licenses as needed.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong leadership and motivational skills; ability to build trust and foster collaboration across teams.
Technical/Other Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills; professional appearance; ability to maintain confidentiality.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, operate a computer and other office equipment, and communicate effectively with customers and staff.

 

Work Environment:
 Hybrid schedule. Office setting with frequent interaction with customers, staff, and business partners. Occasional travel to other offices or community events required.


Salary Range:

The salary range for this role is $60,000 to $77,500. This is the salary range we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may pay more than the posted range for exceptionally qualified individuals. An employee’s pay position within the pay band will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience (job and life), skills (specific and transferable), seniority, performance, and business organizational needs. This range may also be modified in the future.
