Maintenance Technician I (Entry Level)

Department: Facilities / Operations
Location: AstroNova – West Warwick, RI
Reports To: Facilities Manager

Position Summary

Entry-level role focused on supporting facility operations and learning basic maintenance practices. Performs routine tasks under supervision to maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment across manufacturing, warehouse, and office areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with general maintenance tasks (basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry repairs)
• Support preventative maintenance activities on facility systems and equipment
• Respond to maintenance requests with guidance from senior technicians
• Perform general labor tasks (moving equipment, materials, workspace setup)
• Maintain cleanliness and 6S standards across facility areas
• Support groundskeeping (snow removal, salting, outdoor upkeep)
• Follow all safety, PPE, and environmental procedures
• Identify and report maintenance issues or risks

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• 0–1 year relevant experience (or willingness to learn)
• Basic familiarity with hand tools preferred
