Summary

The Continuous Improvement Engineer supports YTMM’s goals and objectives by contributing towards improving manufacturing efficiencies by utilizing continuous improvement techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Be a “change agent”. This person must be comfortable working with all levels within the organization. They must be able to question the status quo and be a strong leader/communicator.
  • Will be responsible for managing and leading continuous improvement projects, as well as mentoring and coaching leaders and team members of other projects.
  • Able to apply Process Kaizen Engineer, Six Sigma, and general continuous improvement tools and methodology
  • Create and study process flow maps and recommend improvements. 
  • Conduct root cause analysis to implement countermeasures for production related troubles. 
  • Able to coordinate and schedule TPM activities as it applies to each pillar.
  • Able to understand and prioritize losses of OEE to drive improvement initiatives at priority areas.
  • Trains, coaches and motivates personnel in the understanding and adoption of new and existing TPS/TPM principles and techniques.
  • Apply PDCA tools and concepts for continuous improvement
  • Support all production shifts and employees as required by all improvement initiatives.
  • Helping to integrate and improve daily management system to production, maintenance, and quality areas.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Mechanical or process knowledge
  • Time management and prioritization 
  • Strategic and critical thinking 
  • Demonstrated skills in conducting presentations. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5 why, and Cause and Effect
  • Working cross functionally across all departments

Education and Experience

  • BACHELORS DEGREE from accredited University – preferred
  • Must have 5 + years in manufacturing environment. Four year degree preferred (Industrial Engineer or similar)
