Pharmacy Technician Trainee

Pharmacy Innovations is seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our Erie team. In this role, you will support the front-end team by assisting customers in person, by phone, and through the portal. You will also handle data entry, prescription review, delivery coordination, and shipping. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a positive, customer-focused attitude. Your work will help strengthen the customer experience and support our reputation for excellent service.

New to the field? Pennsylvania requires Pharmacy Technician registration with the State Board of Pharmacy. We will guide you through the registration process and provide hands-on training to help you build a long-term career in pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities

Processing & Customer Service

  • Provide excellent customer service by listening carefully, responding with empathy, and handling inquiries professionally.
  • Process, fill, and dispense prescriptions accurately by reviewing orders and pharmacy documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain complete, confidential records of customer interactions, including inquiries, prescription issues, complaints, and resolutions.
  • Identify complex concerns and escalate them to pharmacists or appropriate departments for timely follow-up.
  • Support patient retention by following up on open issues and ensuring patient needs are met.
  • Process payments, manage billing tasks, update accounts, and submit claims.
  • Maintain a compassionate, respectful, and efficient environment where patients feel valued, safe, and supported.
  • Communicate securely and confidentially with patients through the messaging portal to answer questions, confirm order status, and provide follow-up information.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Required: Must possess, or be able to obtain before employment begins, an active Pharmacy Technician Trainee registration or higher credential issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Outlook preferred
  • Comfort learning and working in multiple software programs
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for 6–8 hours per day
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Regular and predictable attendance

Physical Demands

  • Remain mobile and upright for extended periods
  • Lift, scan, and bag items
  • Reach overhead and extend the body, arms, or legs to grasp items
  • Perform repetitive finger movements, including picking, pinching, typing, or similar tasks
  • Extend hands and arms in multiple directions to place, move, or lift items
  • Use precision control to quickly adjust equipment to exact positions
  • Stoop, bend, and use lower body and back muscles to move items between low and high positions
  • Use close visual acuity for activities such as reading, computer work, transcription, and inspecting small parts
  • Receive and understand detailed information through oral communication
