What You’ll Do

The DGA seeks a Contracts Coordinator to work in the Guild’s national headquarters in Los Angeles, CA to assist with the Basic Agreement, specifically focused on TV Director issues. 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Contracts team and Executives on enforcement of the Basic Agreement and on various organizing objectives.
  • Comprehensive understanding of DGA contracts covering employment in the film and television industry.
  • Evaluating studio-submitted waivers pertaining to a Director’s creative and economic rights.
  • Outreach to DGA members and studio representatives to discuss employment issues, economic rights & creative rights.
  • Resolving contract disputes with studio counterparts, including filing contract grievances as necessary.
  • Develop and drive contract enforcement campaigns.
  • Support executive team in collective bargaining research and preparation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work closely with a team as well as independently
  • Intellectual curiosity 
  • Flexibility, organization, and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to navigate difficult conversations professionally
  • Comfort communicating with a wide range of individuals, including member leaders, attorneys, agents, and non-members
  • Excellent analytical and computer skills; proficiency with Excel
  • Previous experience with union representation helpful but not required.
  • Work onsite 5 days per week. 
  • Undergraduate degree required.

Starting Salary Range: $68,000-75,000 depending on experience
