Beach Plum Farm is a 62-acre working farm and hospitality property in West Cape May. Our six private cottages offer guests a unique opportunity to experience the farm while enjoying the service and amenities expected of a luxury hospitality property. The Beach Plum Farm Cottages have been recognized with a Michelin Key, and this position helps ensure that every stay reflects that level of personalized service, attention to detail, and care. Unlike a traditional hotel front desk position, this is a hands-on hospitality role that works throughout the cottage operation. The Front Desk Agent will assist with guest arrivals and departures, reservations, daily guest communication, housekeeping coordination, cottage inspections, maintenance follow-up, and administrative support for the Senior Innkeeper. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently while providing warm and genuine hospitality. Primary Responsibilities Welcome cottage guests upon arrival and provide a personalized introduction to Beach Plum Farm and their cottage. Manage guest check-ins and check-outs, including confirming reservation details, payment information, and special requests. Communicate with guests prior to arrival to assist with stay details, activities, dining, transportation, and special requests. Serve as a primary point of contact for cottage guests throughout their stay. Assist guests with information about Beach Plum Farm, Cape Resorts amenities, farm programming, dining experiences, and Cape May attractions. Process guest payments, post charges, and assist with account questions as needed. Assist with cottage reservations by telephone, email, and through the property management system. Monitor upcoming arrivals, departures, special occasions, repeat guests, and VIP stays. Perform cottage inspections prior to guest arrival to ensure each cottage is clean, properly stocked, and ready for check-in. Coordinate daily with housekeeping regarding arrivals, departures, stayover service, special requests, and cottage priorities. Assist the Senior Innkeeper with the daily management and scheduling of housekeeping needs. Identify maintenance or landscaping concerns during cottage inspections and communicate them to management for scheduling and follow-up. Follow through on guest requests to ensure issues are resolved quickly and professionally. Maintain accurate guest notes and reservation information in the property management system. Assist with cottage packages, amenities, farm programming, and other elements of the guest experience. Support the Senior Innkeeper with e-commerce, reservation updates, reporting, guest communication, and other administrative responsibilities. Maintain organized records of cottage activity, guest requests, maintenance needs, and operational follow-up. Communicate effectively with the Farm Market, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Landscaping, Food & Beverage, and other Cape Resorts teams. Assist with additional farm and cottage operational needs as required. Guest Experience & Michelin Key Standards Hospitality at Beach Plum Farm is highly personalized. With only six cottages, we have the opportunity to know our guests, understand what they need, and create a stay that feels thoughtful rather than transactional. The Front Desk Agent is expected to take ownership of the guest experience from arrival through departure. This includes noticing small details, anticipating needs, following through on requests, and ensuring the cottages consistently meet the standards associated with Beach Plum Farm and its Michelin Key recognition. The goal is for every guest to feel that they are being welcomed into the farm rather than simply checking into a hotel. Daily Cottage Operations This position will work closely with the Senior Innkeeper to help manage the daily flow of the cottages. Responsibilities will include reviewing arrivals and departures, communicating housekeeping priorities, inspecting cottages, monitoring maintenance needs, assisting with guest requests, and ensuring information is communicated between departments. As the individual becomes familiar with the operation, additional responsibilities may be added in areas such as reservations, reporting, e-commerce, packages, housekeeping coordination, and overall cottage administration. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong guest service and communication skills, both verbal and written. Warm, professional, and comfortable interacting directly with luxury hospitality guests. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities while remaining calm and guest-focused. Ability to recognize a guest or operational issue and take appropriate action without waiting to be directed. Comfortable using property management systems, email, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other hospitality technology. Ability to communicate effectively with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Landscaping, Food & Beverage, and Farm teams. Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a small hospitality team. Must be comfortable moving throughout the farm and cottage property during the workday. Ability to work weekends, holidays, mornings, or evenings based on cottage occupancy and business needs. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. One to two years of hospitality, hotel, inn, resort, or other guest-facing experience preferred. Luxury hotel, resort, inn, or high-end guest service experience is strongly preferred. Previous experience with a property management or reservation system is preferred. Valid driver's license preferred. What Success Looks Like Success in this role means that the cottages are ready before guests arrive, housekeeping and operational priorities are clearly communicated, guest requests are followed through to completion, and the Senior Innkeeper has strong daily support. Most importantly, success means that guests leave Beach Plum Farm feeling personally cared for and understanding why the cottages have earned Michelin Key recognition. This position is an opportunity to grow into the operation over time, taking on greater responsibility as knowledge of the cottages, the farm, our guests, and our hospitality standards develops.
