Who Succeeds at Shatterproof
Shatterproof is in a period of transformative and rapid growth. We are building new systems, reimagining how work gets done, and creating more cross-functional alignment to accelerate our mission.
To thrive here, you should be energized by building, not just maintaining — and excited to bring structure, clarity, and innovation to evolving spaces.

We’re looking for team members who:
  • Build systems and processes from the ground up and improve them continuously as we scale.
  • Take ownership and act with a builder’s mindset, bringing forward solutions rather than waiting for direction.
  • Influence and collaborate across teams, shaping work through strong communication and relationship-building.
  • Move quickly, learn fast, and adapt with resilience, especially in a high-growth, high-impact environment.
  • Are mission-driven and motivated to leave their mark on an organization working to reverse the addiction crisis.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Vice President, Peer-to-Peer Fundraising, the Senior Manager of Emerging Programs owns and grows the fundraising programs that scale nationally without a fixed market footprint: our Endurance program, Create Your Own Fundraiser (CYOF), and Walk Your Way. This position builds and executes the strategy for each program, creating the systems and community that drive participation and revenue, and treats these programs as a connected portfolio and a source of innovation for the broader peer-to-peer effort. This role calls for an entrepreneurial, community-first orientation, seeing our athletes, fundraisers, and event creators not as transactions but as some of our most personally connected constituents, and building experiences that help them engage, fundraise, return year after year, and grow into deeper, longer-term supporters of Shatterproof's mission. The role works in close partnership with the Volunteer Engagement, Marketing, and Corporate teams, recognizing that durable program growth is built with the broader organization, not in isolation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Strategy and Growth
  • Own the annual plan, budget, and performance for the Endurance, CYOF, and Walk Your Way programs, managing them as a connected portfolio with shared systems and cross-program learning.
  • Set annual growth goals for each program and contribute to multi-year planning, with clear metrics for participation, activation, retention, and revenue.
  • Use CYOF as an “event lab,” studying what community members create and applying those insights to strengthen the broader peer-to-peer and Walk portfolio.
  • Identify and launch new fundraising opportunities and program innovations that expand reach and diversify revenue.
  • Position the emerging programs portfolio as an entry point to the broader donor pipeline, partnering with Annual Giving, Major Giving, and Direct Response to identify and cultivate program participants with the capacity and connection to deepen their support over time.
  • Partner with the Senior Director of Fundraising Strategy and Operations to ensure programs are supported by strong data, platforms, and reporting.

Endurance Program

  • Manage and grow the endurance portfolio, including marathon and race charity bib programs, athlete recruitment, and fundraising minimums.
  • Build and steward relationships with race organizers and partners to expand the portfolio of available events, including domestic and international marquee races.
  • Develop the full athlete journey in partnership with Senior Director of Fundraising Strategy: recruitment, onboarding, fundraising coaching, training support, and stewardship through race day and beyond.
  • Cultivate a connected endurance community rooted in the parallels between endurance and recovery, positioning Shatterproof as a distinctive home for athletes running in honor of their own recovery, in memory of a loved one, or in support of someone still in the fight.
  • Explore virtual and hybrid race options that lower geographic and access barriers to participation.

Create Your Own Fundraiser (CYOF)

  • Lead a turnaround and growth strategy for CYOF, with dedicated focus on front-line acquisition, promotion, and the recruitment and engagement of new fundraisers.
  • Build streamlined tools, resources, and touchpoints that make it easy for community members to launch, run, and complete their own fundraisers.
  • Steward event creators with care and personalization, recognizing the personal milestones and losses that often motivate a fundraiser.
  • Capture and share what works across CYOF to inform broader program and event design.

Walk Your Way

  • Assess and recommend the role of Walk Your Way within the peer-to-peer portfolio, building a plan for sustainable growth.
  • Support and grow national, do-it-anywhere participation, strengthening the experience for participants outside our in-person Walk markets.

Relationship Development and Community

  • Maintain a strong portfolio of key relationships across athletes, event creators, top fundraisers, and program partners.
  • Develop stewardship and cultivation journeys that build loyalty and improve retention, leveraging Salesforce and P2P platform best practices.
  • Partner closely with the Volunteer Engagement team to connect athletes, event creators, and program participants into Shatterproof’s broader volunteer ecosystem, and to identify program supporters who can grow into volunteer roles.
  • Partner with Marketing and Communications to support acquisition, awareness, and storytelling that fuels program growth.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate team and VP of Peer-to-Peer to identify company and national-team opportunities within the endurance and DIY space.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Represent the emerging programs portfolio across the organization, ensuring it is integrated with the Walk, volunteer engagement, marketing, and corporate efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align program strategy with organizational priorities and the evolving growth model.
  • Seek regular insight and feedback from leadership to evaluate, enhance, and continuously improve the programs.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and platforms in support of program delivery.

Data and Analytics

  • Collect, analyze, and share program metrics to inform continuous improvement and track alignment with organizational goals.
  • Apply data-driven insight to improve program efficiency, participant experience, and fundraising outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of participants, athletes, and event creators.
EDUCATION/COMPETENCIES/EXPERIENCE: (Education/experience at the top – measurable experience follows)
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • An unparalleled commitment to raising awareness for drug and alcohol addiction in America
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in peer-to-peer fundraising, endurance or event-based fundraising, DIY/community fundraising, or a related field
  • Demonstrated success growing a fundraising program, portfolio, or revenue stream
  • Experience recruiting, coaching, and stewarding fundraisers, athletes, or volunteers
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain cross-functional partnerships, particularly around volunteer, community, and corporate engagement
  • An entrepreneurial spirit who thrives in a fast-paced organization and enjoys building programs from the ground up
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Action-oriented, adaptable, and skilled at relationship-building
  • Ability to work and make judgments independently and take initiative
  • Ability to organize time effectively and manage a large number of tasks simultaneously
  • Initiative and independence, combined with the ability to work well as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with a variety of constituencies
  • Competency in software including Salesforce, DonorDrive, or other P2P platforms is preferred
  • Ability to travel as needed for meetings, races, and events
  • Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends as needed to support events
