Job Summary:
We are supporting our client, a large non-profit organization based in Washington, DC, in their search for an experienced IT Technology Application Trainer. This direct hire opportunity is well-suited for professionals with a solid background in IT training, instructional design, and end-user enablement, and is ideal for candidates seeking a hybrid work arrangement based in Washington, D.C..

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering training programs for various workplace IT applications used throughout the organization. Working closely with IT and cross-functional teams, you'll help elevate productivity and improve technical proficiency across staff by creating engaging, customized learning experiences. Your work will ensure that staff are empowered to effectively use IT tools that align with organizational goals.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development:

  • Collaborate with IT and stakeholders to identify training needs and objectives.
  • Design tailored training curricula that align with organizational tools and user proficiency levels.
  • Develop engaging training materials, manuals, presentations, and e-learning content.

Training Delivery:

  • Lead in-person and virtual training sessions for staff at all levels.
  • Customize content to accommodate varying technical skill levels and learning styles.
  • Provide live demonstrations and hands-on guidance during training.
  • Offer ongoing support and respond to user questions during and after sessions.

Evaluation & Feedback:

  • Measure training effectiveness through surveys, assessments, and user feedback.
  • Identify areas for improvement and revise training content accordingly.
  • Track participant progress and provide refresher training as needed.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain training records, attendance logs, and session feedback.
  • Generate summary reports on training effectiveness and make recommendations.
  • Document IT best practices and user guides for staff reference.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay updated on workplace technology trends and new application features.
  • Pursue professional development through workshops, courses, and certifications.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 6+ Years of Experience in IT training, instructional design, or education—ideally in a corporate or non-profit environment.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, ERP platforms, and other business applications.
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to explain technical topics to non-technical users.
  • Familiarity with instructional design principles and Learning Management Systems (LMS) is a plus.
  • Collaborative and empathetic approach to knowledge sharing.
