Listed as a National and Local Best Place to Work, Bowers + Kubota Consulting is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator. The Project Coordinator initiates the construction project and works closely with construction management. This position may require experience overseeing construction projects from the office, some field experience in determining work scope, and familiarity with construction activities.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum high school diploma. A bachelor’s degree would be beneficial.
- 0–5 years of construction-related experience.
- Knowledge of construction activities, methods, and safety standards is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret plan drawings, specifications, and work scopes is a plus.
- Knowledgeable in the use of computers and software, including Microsoft Suite, Bluebeam, iPads, tablets, and digital cameras.
- Basic math skills.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work outside occasionally in environmental and sometimes hazardous conditions, such as climbing ladders to inspect roofs.
- Ability to work outside with increased noise levels.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and other conditions associated with construction projects.
- Positive, service-oriented attitude toward the firm, our employees, and our clients.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Record and file necessary information related to construction progress, including daily reports, construction documents, photo records, and final documentation.
- Assist in reviewing contractor progress payments.
- Provide field support for submittals, RFIs, and requests for contract change orders.
- Notify the supervisor of any observed nonconformance.
- Assist in preparing and issuing nonconformance reports.
- Document and develop reports of on-site observations, nonconformances, and construction inspections, including photographic records and entries into computer systems.
- Document change order work in the field.
- Document labor, materials, and equipment associated with modification work.
- Work as part of a team while developing and maintaining productive relationships.
- Monitor the contractor’s quality-control activities, including materials, quality of work, and safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
LOCATION: Wailuku, HI
SALARY RANGE: $59,740 – $66,144 per year depending on experience
