SUMMARY

Coordinates Facilities maintenance activities and maintains the operability of company owned vehicles, heavy equipment, small equipment, and building support systems. Responsibilities include work order management, preventive and corrective maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, parts procurement, inventory management, vendor coordination, equipment rentals, compliance reporting, technical drawings, database management, and administrative support. Performs work in accordance with plant procedures, manufacturer recommendations, applicable permits, work instructions, policies, OSHA guidelines, and Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements.

 

EDUCATION

  • High School/GED or equivalent (Required)
  • Associate degree in business, automotive technology, diesel technology, industrial maintenance, or a related field (Preferred)
  • Without the above requirements, relevant experience may be considered.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Mechanic 5 – minimum of 24 months in the Maintenance Apprentice Program (Required)

 

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Texas Driver’s license (Required)
  • Mechanical Journeyman Certification for Journeyman level (Required)

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinates Facilities maintenance activities and performs preventive and corrective maintenance on company owned vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation and compliance with vendors and plant technical specifications.

  • Coordinates work order management, parts procurement, inventory management, compliance reporting, AutoCAD drawings, and database management.
  • Creates, tracks, updates, and closes Facilities work orders and maintains complete and accurate maintenance records.
  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on company owned diesel and gasoline vehicles, heavy equipment, and small equipment.
  • Maintains and repairs mobile cranes, water pumps, scissor lifts, man lifts, trailers, floats, flatbeds, and other company owned equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, fuel, and hydraulic systems in accordance with company procedures, manufacturer recommendations, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Performs vehicle and equipment inspections and documents identified conditions and completed repairs.
  • Repairs and replaces tires and performs refueling activities for company owned vehicles and equipment during regular operations and outages.
  • Reconditions older vehicles and equipment to extend usable life, including body work, engine rebuilding, brake repair, and electrical repair.
  • Maintains vehicle and equipment records from purchase through surplus or disposal.
  • Purchases parts and materials through approved vendors and coordinates delivery through the warehouse.
  • Coordinates with outside vendors for specialty repairs, onsite maintenance, and other required services.
  • Coordinates the rental, delivery, tracking, and return of equipment needed for outages, projects, and site vendors.
  • Promotes positive customer service through prompt, accurate, and courteous responses to customer needs in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication.
  • Performs periodic field walkdowns to identify maintenance needs and verify completed work.
  • Performs other assigned duties as specified by management or supervision.

 

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accept ERO position as needed.
  • Accept outage position as needed.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
  • Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) or other training as required for position.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Environmental and physical requirements require the ability to don appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the defined role; subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up 50lbs; ascending/descending stairs; ascending, descending, traversing ladders, scaffolds, stairs; working in confined spaces; moving safely over uneven or slippery terrain; working in proximity to loud equipment and possible inclement weather/temperature conditions.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
  • Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week.
  • Travel may be required.
  • May be required to carry a phone.

 

WORK LOCATION

  • Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site.
