Position Summary
The Rental Technician is responsible for the delivery, setup, retrieval, and basic training of medical equipment at customer locations. This position requires safe operation of company vehicles, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to provide hands-on support to healthcare providers regarding equipment usage.
This role involves local and regional travel, including occasional overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and pick up medical equipment from healthcare facilities and customer locations.
- Safely operate a company vehicle in accordance with company policies and DOT requirements.
- Set up, inspect, and ensure proper functionality of medical equipment.
- Provide basic equipment training and usage instruction to customers during deliveries.
- Load, unload, and transport equipment safely and efficiently.
- Complete delivery documentation and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal team members.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and work area.
- Support warehouse and inventory activities as needed.
- Travel outside the local service area, including overnight stays when required.
Qualifications
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Previous delivery, transportation, warehouse, equipment service, or medical equipment experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn medical equipment operation.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to travel overnight when business needs require.
