Description


SUMMARY:

The CR Writer/Inspector provides efficiency on condition reports describing damages on all vehicles inspected. The CR Writer/Inspector will exhibit superior customer service and teamwork. This individual will adhere to all auction confidentiality and compliance standards. The CR Writer/Inspector will complete needed condition reports in a timely manner on a daily basis.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  1. Providing efficient and courteous service to all customers at all times. 
  2. Always exhibit ‘hands on’ and direct approach with customers.
  3. Complete any course required by auction for inspector position. 
  4. Inspect units cosmetically and mechanically. Ensure all vehicle Condition Reports are in compliance with requirements.
  5. Stock units into the system complete with trim codes.
  6. Ensure each vehicle’s mileage, options, damages, pictures and mechanical status are accurately reported.
  7. Check units for Frame and Flood damage
  8. Photograph all the units to attach to the condition report.
  9. Clear all information stored on the vehicle’s phone and navigation system.
  10. Make sure auction transport tag is attached to the unit being inspected on 5 mile test drive.
  11. Ensure all handheld devices are synced, properly charged and handled with care.
  12. Complete all condition reports daily with the exception of sale day. 
  13. Work well independently as well as a team player.
  14. Timely communication of issues that may be deemed as detrimental to the success of operations to Management.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Experience: Computer and mechanical experience
  • Skills: Should be highly organized, self-motivated and self-disciplined. Computer proficient. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. You should be a mechanic or mechanically inclined. Knowing Mitchell pricing system, a plus. Previous claims adjusters, body shop techs will be a major plus.
  • Requirements: 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age 
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license 
  • Environment: The environment of the CR Writer/Inspector involves entering data into a handheld provided by the auction. Must be able to keep valid drivers license for duration of employment. Must drive each unit for mechanical testing. Inspect underbody of unit. Those working in this position are subject to temperature changes, all types of weather conditions, fast-paced environment, elevated noise levels and at times fumes and odors associated with vehicle exhaust at times.
