Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Shades Mountain Baptist Church - Birmingham, AL 35216Position Type: Part TimePosition Type: Part Time, Exempt (Up to 28 hours per week with some weekends required)   Direct Supervisor: Communications Director   Position Summary: The Content Creator will support the Communications Team by creating engaging, compelling digital content that helps people connect with the life and mission of the church. This part-time role will focus on social media strategy and content creation, while collaborating with the team on writing, photography, video, and other digital storytelling projects. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and creative thinker able to translate the church’s vision and ministry into content that captures attention, builds connection, and encourages meaningful engagement.   Position Profile: Committed and growing follower of Jesus Christ with a passion for using creativity to further the gospel Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in creative communication Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other industry-standard design tools Knowledge of major social media platforms, current content and design trends, and branding principles Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to create engaging content for a variety of audiences and platforms Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Self-motivated, creative, and able to take initiative and ownership of projects Willingness to receive feedback, collaborate with others, and adapt in a fast-paced environment Additional skills in video production, photography, graphic design, or other creative disciplines preferred A member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church or willing and able to become a member   Responsibilities: Content Creation Create compelling written and digital content for social media, websites, email, print, and other communication channels Develop and execute timely and engaging social media content that communicates the mission and ministries of the church Contribute to storytelling efforts that highlight what God is doing through the church and its people Contribute to communication projects across digital, print, video, photography, design, and other creative platforms based on strengths and skillset Team Collaboration Work alongside the Communications Team and ministry leaders to develop and execute effective communication strategies Contribute wherever needed to help the team accomplish its goals and serve the church effectively Take ownership of assigned projects and manage timelines through completion Perform other related duties that may benefit the Communications Team or the church as directed by the Communications Director or Executive leadership.
