Job DetailsJob Location: Milsco Jackson - Jackson, MI 49203Job Category: Human Resources Conduct employee onboarding for all levels (temporary contract employees, UAW, Salary, etc), including training and development coordination with supervisors and managers. Gather and analyze data with HR Metrics; creating and presenting data through regular reporting and/or presentations. Mediate conflicts, handle grievance processes, and work with local UAW on solutions that fall within the UAW contract, as well as the company goals and procedures. Support improvement plans to work towards a positive work culture. Conduct training sessions and employee engagement events throughout each calendar year. Implement and enforce safety policies and trainings; conduct investigations using processes like 5 why and fishbone analyses; suggest solutions and corrective actions surrounding workplace findings, incidents, and/or injuries. Ensure OSHA, EEOC, and state health and safety regulations and compliance are upheld. Conduct risk assessment and audits throughout plant and production, including participating in safety committee working with local UAW, management, and supervisors to improve safety culture. Work with department heads to create, keep up to date, and uphold LOTO and forklift operation policies and practices—including coordination of training and distribution of appropriate documentation. Communicate and work with vendors, Occupational Health providers, insurance coordinators, etc as issues/events arise. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred.  Equivalent education and experience will be considered.  2-5 years of HR experience within a manufacturing environment required Strong communication skills, and the ability to build trusting relationships. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Work strongly on a team, both as a team player and leader. Proficiency in HRIS software for efficient data management and reporting. Strong decision making skills, and the ability to make sound judgements that align with both the UAW contract and Company goals. Ability to be objective and fair in order to make unbiased decisions for the good of the Company and the Employees Knowledge of health and safety regulations. Understanding of OSHA guidelines and safety regulations. Understanding of privacy laws and regulations regarding employee information and documentation. Work Environment: This position is an office and plant based position. The noise level is usually moderate.  However the position does enter the manufacturing/warehouse portion of the facility where the noise level is louder and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) may be required.
