Position Summary

Works with Management, Engineering, Planners, Supply chain representatives, and Production to implement lean production methodologies and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives to support our Lean Journey to World Class. Leads and supports improvement projects with the drive to implement and realize the promised results.


Responsibilities

Accountabilities

Ensure total compliance with established safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures. 

• Assist and support the EHS manager as needed to support plant safety programs.

• Ensure that all Facility systems meet safety and operational standards through inhouse and vendor supported PM programs.

• Oversee daily activities of the maintenance personnel to ensure top operating condition of equipment and systems.

• Support the maintenance manager in the daily maintenance department operation.

• Support line efficiency improvements through preventive and predictive maintenance, equipment upgrades, and focused improvement efforts.

• Assist Project managers and the management team in line upgrades and new machine installs. 

• Communicate daily with the maintenance team Leads and maintenance personnel to review department operation.

• Monitor CMMS functionality and assist in updating and optimizing the predictive and preventive maintenance program.

• Promote the Maintenance Roadmap portion of the Manufacturing Excellence program.

• Effectively track and communicate Maintenance KPI’s to the maintenance manager.

• Communicate daily with the Maintenance Planner for daily maintenance planning and scheduling.

• Communicate daily with the Parts Coordinator and 3rd party parts department to ensure MRO needs are met. 

• Assist as needed when MRO issues arise ( contacting OEM, Outside vendors, Contractors, etc..) 

• Effectively communicate with OEM representatives and vendors for technical support and spare parts management. 


What we are looking for

Required Skills and Experience Required Experience

• High school diploma or GED.

• At least 5 years of demonstrated expertise in a leadership capacity.

• Leadership experience - Lead with integrity; manages by fact, achieves results, builds teams.

• High technical and mechanical aptitude

• Bias for action, decisive, and self-direction.

• Commitment to achieve key performance metrics and drive for continuous improvement with team.

• Analytical problem-solving ability, process oriented. • High level communication skills both written and verbal.

• Demonstrates the ability to develop people.

• Expert Problem Solving – Driving Issues to Root Cause / Corrective Action

• Project Management Skills to Keep Improvements On-time

• Good computer skills. Will frequently use computer programs such as Word, Access, and Excel, SAP, & CMMS.

• Effectively communicate with production and plant leadership.

• Coordinate equipment repairs with line leads and production supervisors.

• Lead daily activities in accordance with plant goals, metrics and policies with minor intervention or supervision.

• Manage the timely equipment repair process to ensure minimal downtime. Preferred Experience - Technical Certification; or 2-4 years related maintenance experience (prefer manufacturing environment) and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Have or seek to obtain Green Belt or higher for continuous improvement processes.
