JOB TITLE: Environmental Grants Administrator
DEPARTMENT: Environmental
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Compliance Section works to strategically maximize the Tribe’s use of external funds according to Senate priorities to support the Tribe’s program and project planning and development.
Grants Administrator provides support to departmental program development efforts including: fund search, development of funding strategies, grant writing, project coordination, and program development services. Works with project proponents to develop and maintain strong working relationships with current and potential funders
Job Duties:
• Provide customized grant writing support to departments seeking new grants, as assigned.
• Provide programmatic support to departments, as assigned. To include grant writing, program design, program development, development of policy and procedure manuals, development of forms, and ongoing data collection to inform reporting and future decision making by Tribal leadership.
• Support departmental staff in programmatic communication with funders.
• Support the tribes funding forecast process and assist departments in strategically planning funding, including consideration of external funds as part of the tribe’s annual budgeting process.
• Monitor and review new federal, state, and other funding packages for potentially relevant funding and identify potential funding opportunities for inclusion in funding outlook.
• Maintain a calendar of financial assistance renewals, continuation and new applications.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of relevant funding opportunities; communicate updated outlook information to tribal staff; and be available to advise management on funding forecast development.
• Other duties may include administrative tasks to support grants department operations, advising, and related tasks as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s Degree or equivalent
• Minimum ten years of related experience
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and policies, including 2 CFR 200
• Strong written and oral communication skills relevant to federal, state, private, and tribal contexts
• Culturally appropriate social skills to successfully coordinate with tribal staff to plan/design grant-funded program development and secure funding needed for program implementation
• Experience with grants.gov, FEMA GO, and other grant submission portals preferred
