Are you passionate about mental health and looking for a meaningful career where you can make a real impact? Legacy Behavioral Health Services is seeking a Director of Crisis  Center to join our team in Lowndes County.  Position Summary:

The Director of Crisis Center (BHCC) will oversee 24 bed Crisis Service Unit (CSU), 6 bed Temporary Observation (TO) Unit, and Crisis Service Center (CSC). This position will implement program development, facilitate community outreach, develop/build relationships with identified stakeholders, and provide clinical and logistical oversight to staff at the BHCC, as well as ensure quality of services are being delivered. Works closely with Medical Director, Nurse Manager and Safety Manager. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • State of GA License Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), Registered Nurse License (RN) with bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN), or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
  • Four (4) years’ experience in behavioral health or nursing field.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in management.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Valid Drivers’ License

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s in health care administration (MHA) or business management (MBA).
  • Prior experience in quality and performance improvement.
  • Experience in project management

Working Conditions: Must be physically and emotionally fit to work in a stress-filled environment to meet deadlines and deal with routine and crisis situations. May have extended periods of sitting, walking, and standing. Requires varying hours of duty to provide monitoring, educational and/or crisis handling, as well as travel to off campus locations in BHSGA or personal vehicle.   

Physical Demands: Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk, with up to 75% of time spent using a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment. Frequent use of office technology including computers, telephones, printers, and copiers. Effective verbal and written communication skills required for clear interaction in person, by phone, and via email. Visual acuity necessary for reviewing detailed documents, analyzing data on computer screens, and conducting audits or compliance assessments. Ability to walk short distances, climb stairs, and occasionally lift or carry items such as laptops, reports, training materials, or audit files weighing up to 20 pounds.

Occasional local travel to agency offices, partner organizations, client sites, or community settings; must be able to independently navigate environments that may have limited accessibility or variable conditions. Work is primarily office-based with standard lighting, temperature, and ergonomic controls; however, remote work or working from home may be required or permitted based on organizational needs and role responsibilities.

Potential limited exposure to infectious or hazardous conditions during field visits; adherence to standard safety precautions and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required as appropriate.
