Job DetailsJob Location: Valdese, NC 28690Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company and has been in business for over 100 years. As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract-grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers. 2nd and 3rd shift do receive a shift premium of $1.00. We offer a $50 attendance bonus for every two weeks in which you miss no time, not including our shutdown periods. This bonus would provide an extra $0.62 to your hourly rate. SCOPE: Move and store fabric as needed PPE: Hearing protection in high noise areas, safety belt when using cherry picker, seat belt on fork lift, other as needed to do an assignment safely TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: motorized equipment, general office supplies, LXE gun, scissors, bagger, and conveyor belt REQUIRED PRODUCTION OUTPUT PER SHIFT: Keep up with production ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Safety: Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers. Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately. Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards. 2. Attendance: Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goals. 3. Work Ethics: Maintain personal work habits, which meet the demands and stresses of the job. Meet deadlines and production quotas. Get along with co-workers. Follow instructions. Work scheduled overtime. 4. Duties: Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and standards: Move fabric from Inspection to staging area for pick up by truck driver Maintain electronic records (LXE gun and computer) showing location of fabric. Properly identify fabric with appropriate labels and tickets, being sure all data matches. Keep work area clean. Maintain good housekeeping. OTHER JOB ELEMENTS: Perform other duties needed to do the job or as required by the supervisor. QualificationsEDUCATION, TRAINING, AND SKILLS NEEDED TO PERFORM JOB: Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Be proficient in reading and writing English in order to follow special instructions and directions. Good physical condition because heavy lifting is required. Forklift license is required for moving buggies Basic computer skills and use of LXE gun Must be willing and able to work seven days per week.
