Our Customers operate facilities and manufacture product regulated by the FDA, ISO, EMA and other national and international regulatory bodies. We specialize in providing onsite Calibration, Certification, Consulting & Staffing, Environmental Monitoring, and Validation Services at our customers’ facilities located throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region (namely: DE, MD, NJ, PA, VA) for routine services and project services (namely Validation) requires travel nationally to support customers with multiple locations.

Job Description

FIELD CALIBRATION TECHNICIAN

As a Calibration Technician at Quantus, Inc., you will deliver NIST Traceable calibration services for a broad range of general laboratory, process, and analytical instrumentation at pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device customer facilities throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. You will work independently in the field with a high degree of technical competency, professionalism, and documentation discipline — serving as the face of Quantus at every customer site visit. This role is well-suited for a self-directed technical professional who thrives in a field service environment, takes ownership of their work, and is motivated to grow within a structured, performance-oriented calibration organization.


Job Responsibilities

This position requires the Field Calibration Technician to provide onsite services, such as:

  • Perform NIST Traceable calibration services for general laboratory and process equipment including freezers, incubators, autoclaves, water systems, CO2 analyzers, conductivity meters, humidity sensors, pressure gauges, temperature instruments, and related equipment
  • •Perform NIST Traceable calibration services for analytical equipment including laser particle counters, biological air samplers, bio-welders, microplate readers, UV-VIS spectrophotometers, osmometers, thermal cyclers, and related instrumentation
  • •Uphold Good Documentation Practices on all calibration records, service reports, and customer-facing deliverables; ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready at the close of each service visit
  • •Follow Quantus, Inc. SOPs, customer-specific procedures, and all applicable industry best practices and safety requirements on every site visit
  • •Communicate professionally with customer contacts regarding service activities, out-of-tolerance findings, equipment concerns, and documentation questions; enhance customer relationships through reliable, knowledgeable service delivery
  • •Troubleshoot instrumentation issues in the field; apply technical judgment to resolve service challenges and escalate complex issues to the Territory Supervisor or Department Manager as appropriate
  • •Manage daily field schedule efficiently; transition between task types and customer sites with strong organizational discipline and independent time management
  • •Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvements, service enhancements, or additional customer needs to the Territory Supervisor
  • •Comply with all Safety Sensitive standards; maintain the full, unimpaired skills and judgment required for safe execution of calibration services at customer facilities
  • •Maintain company-provided fleet vehicle in accordance with Quantus fleet policies; depart from home directly to customer sites
  • •Complete all required training and qualification programs; maintain current calibration certifications as required by role and service area

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to efficiently transition between tasks
  • •Demonstrates initiative, strong planning, and organizational skills for managing a varied workload effectively
  • •Strict adherence to Safety Sensitive standards; must possess full, unimpaired skills and judgment for safe job execution
  • •Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various positions (bending, kneeling, sitting, standing)
  • •Valid Driver's License; company fleet vehicle provided. Technicians depart from home
  • •Ability to pass drug and background checks
  • •Local travel to customer work sites required
  • 4-8 years of experience in field calibration services within the life sciences industry or a related regulated technical environment
  • •Demonstrated technical proficiency in performing NIST Traceable calibrations across general laboratory, process, and/or analytical instrumentation categories
  • •Working knowledge of cGMP environments, Good Documentation Practices, and regulatory compliance expectations applicable to calibration services
  • •Ability to work independently in the field with strong self-direction, time management, and professional judgment
  • •Strong interpersonal and communication skills; professional customer-facing presence required as the on-site Quantus representative
  • •Initiative, strong organizational skills, and willingness to identify and suggest process improvements
  • •Must be computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Office and email, and able to learn and work within custom database and scheduling applications
  • •Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform field work at customer sites including bending, kneeling, sitting, and standing
  • •Compliance with Safety Sensitive standards; must possess full, unimpaired skills and judgment for safe job execution
  • •Valid driver's license and clean driving record required; company fleet vehicle provided, technicians depart from home
  • •Local and regional travel to customer sites in PA, NJ, and surrounding areas
  • •Must be able to pass a drug and background check


Compensation: Full-Time Salary (dependent upon related experience and qualifications)
