POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State Smeal College of Business is seeking a Marketing and Communications Specialist to plan and implement the college's social media strategy and monitor activities to advance the brand, support enrollment growth, and strengthen stakeholder relationships. This position also works with the college's Business Career Center to promote their services and engage with hiring managers and recruiters.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

  • Develops and maintains an integrated content calendar for all social media and other college channels in alignment with a college-wide digital communication strategy and plan.

  • Collaborates with other members of the Marketing and Strategic Communications team to develop social media campaigns to increase engagement and followers while supporting the college brand and program goals.

  • Produces and publishes social media content for all college channels in collaboration with the Marketing and Strategic Communications team and other college staff members.

  • Develops standard reports on social media activity and integrates performance data with college marketing and communication dashboards.

  • Regularly monitors, analyzes, and reports on Penn State Smeal's social media sentiment and online reputation and advises Marketing and Strategic Communications department leadership and staff regarding response opportunities and needs and other interventions as appropriate.

  • Stays abreast of emerging social media trends, best practices in social media management and engagement, and the latest technology solutions for optimizing effectiveness.

  • Partners with the Smeal Business Career Center to engage recruiters, hiring managers, and students through targeted marketing and communication support.

​Position Location: This position is a hybrid eligible position - weekly on-site presence required in University Park, PA with attendance at college events as necessary.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree
1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
