Position SummaryĀ
The General Foreman / Electrical Superintendent (E8) oversees multiple electrical crews or work areas andĀ is responsible forĀ coordinatingĀ manpower, scheduling, sequencing, safety, and quality across assigned projects or scopes. This role focuses on execution, leadership, and coordination rather than daily hands-on electrical work.Ā

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesĀ
- Oversee and coordinate the work of multiple electrical crews andĀ foremenĀ
- Plan and manageĀ manpowerĀ allocation to meet project schedules and milestonesĀ
- Coordinate work sequencing with project management, other trades, and clientsĀ
- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and schedules to ensure proper executionĀ
- Monitor productivity, quality, and progress across all assigned work areasĀ
- IdentifyĀ and resolve scope gaps, design conflicts, and constructability issuesĀ
- Enforce company and site safety policies and proceduresĀ
- Lead site-wide job hazard analyses (JHAs), safety planning, and toolbox talk alignmentĀ
- Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, and project requirementsĀ
- Support inspections, testing, and commissioning activitiesĀ
- Track labor performance and provide progress updates to project leadershipĀ
- Coordinate material deliveries, equipment needs, andĀ logisticsĀ
- Mentor and developĀ foremenĀ and field leadershipĀ
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective action planningĀ
- Support schedule recovery and productivity improvement effortsĀ
- Perform limited hands-on electrical work only as necessaryĀ
- Perform other duties as assigned consistent with role responsibilitiesĀ

QualificationsĀ
- High school diploma or GEDĀ requiredĀ
- State-issued Journeyman Electrician license (where applicable)Ā
- Operational understanding and working knowledge of the current NECĀ codeĀ
and industry best practicesĀ
- Extensive field leadership experience in industrial or commercial electrical constructionĀ
- Proven ability to manage multiple crews and complex work scopesĀ
- Strong communication, planning, and organizational skillsĀ

Required Certifications and TrainingĀ
- Journeyman Electrician licenseĀ
- OSHA 30-hour Construction SafetyĀ
- NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety)Ā
- First Aid / CPRĀ
- Advanced safety leadership training (preferred)Ā
- Project management or scheduling training (preferred)Ā
- Jobsite-specific and client-required training as applicableĀ
- Arc Flash Awareness TrainingĀ

Tools & EquipmentĀ
- Must provide andĀ maintainĀ their own basic hand tools customary to the electrical tradeĀ
- All hand tools must be in safe working condition andĀ comply withĀ company and jobsite safety requirementsĀ
Ā
ExperienceĀ
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship programĀ
- TypicallyĀ 10+ years of progressive electrical trade experience, including multi-crew supervisionĀ
Ā
Physical RequirementsĀ
- Ability toĀ lift upĀ to 50 pounds occasionallyĀ
- Ability to walk, climb, and access all areas of the jobsiteĀ
- Ability to work in industrial environments with varying weather and site conditionsĀ
- Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, FR clothing, and fall protectionĀ
