Looking to join a passionate team dedicated to developing and manufacturing life-saving biopharmaceuticals? Avid Bioservices is a leading clinical and commercial biologics CDMO focused on creating innovative solutions to meet the needs of our clients and improve patient outcomes.
Your Role:
Join our exceptional team as the Manager, Supply Chain Operations and take ownership of the daily execution that keeps our GMP manufacturing running. In this hands-on leadership role, you will direct the physical control, movement, and compliance of material — from dock-to-stock receiving through warehousing, kitting, point-of-use issuance, and outbound logistics — ensuring materials are available, released, and production-ready in alignment with the manufacturing schedule. Operating within a regulated cGMP environment, you will build a disciplined, inspection-ready operation supported by strong quality systems and seamless coordination with Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, and external partners. Leveraging Lean principles and rigorous attention to detail, you will develop a high-performing team, drive inventory accuracy, and serve as a subject-matter expert for material operations during client audits and regulatory inspections.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving & Inbound
- Direct dock-to-stock execution, including sampling coordination with QC and disciplined quarantine-to-release material flow.
- Ensure inbound inspection, identification, and status control are performed accurately and in compliance with cGMP and GDP requirements.
Warehouse & Inventory Control
- Lead GMP warehouse operations for raw materials, consumables, intermediates, and finished goods, enforcing segregation, labeling, housekeeping, and access controls.
- Maintain controlled and cold-chain storage conditions with continuous monitoring and prompt excursion response.
- Own ERP transaction accuracy and data integrity for all material movements, ensuring compliant, audit-ready records.
Material Kitting & Staging
- Oversee batch kit build, campaign readiness, and staging to the production schedule, ensuring right-first-time execution and full traceability.
- Proactively manage material timing and release dependencies to eliminate schedule risk at point of use.
On-the-Floor Issuance
- Manage point-of-use delivery, replenishment, and GMP suite material control, including reconciliation of returns and disposition.
- Partner with Manufacturing to ensure uninterrupted material availability during production.
Cycle Counting & Inventory Accuracy
- Execute the cycle-count program, perform variance root-cause analysis, and lead the annual physical inventory.
- Inventory accuracy is a shared target — strategy is set with Planning and execution is owned by Operations.
Logistics & Distribution
- Direct inbound/outbound freight, cold-chain shipping, import/export, and courier management in compliance with GDP and applicable regulations.
- Oversee coordination and completion of finished-product shipments, including receipt confirmation and chain-of-custody control.
3PL & External Storage Management
- Provide oversight of off-site warehouse and 3PL partners, monitoring performance against KPIs and maintaining audit readiness.
- Coordinate material transfer between vendors, off-site storage, and receiving to ensure smooth, compliant material flow.
Documentation, Deviations & Inspection Readiness
- Own GMP records, procedure management, and the initiation and closure of deviations and CAPAs within the material operations area.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert and function representative during client audits and regulatory inspections.
- Feed supplier performance signals from receiving and deviations back into vendor scorecards through the supplier feedback loop.
Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Develop, train, and lead supply chain operations staff — supervisors, leads, material handlers, and associates — building bench strength and accountability.
- Apply Lean principles (5S, standard work, Kaizen) to improve flow, reduce waste, and strengthen operating systems.
- Participate in integrated S&OP and material-readiness reviews tied to the production schedule, with clear deviation and CAPA escalation paths.
- Comply with all safety policies and practices, promoting a safe work environment, and perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, life sciences, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of progressive supply chain, warehouse, or materials-management experience in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or biologics environment.
- 2+ years of leadership experience directly managing warehouse, inventory, or material-operations teams.
- Working knowledge of cGMP and GDP requirements for material control, cold-chain storage, and inspection readiness.
- Demonstrated ownership of inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and ERP/WMS transaction integrity.
- Experience with deviations, CAPAs, and procedure management, with the ability to represent the function in client audits and regulatory inspections.
- Strong Lean/continuous-improvement orientation and excellent cross-functional communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD) preferred
