Position Summary Valley Milk is seeking a Milk Supply & Logistics Analyst to support the daily sourcing, balancing, and movement of milk, cream, and other dairy ingredients. This position plays an important role in ensuring the right dairy ingredients are available at the right place and time to support production requirements, customer commitments, and market opportunities. The Milk Supply & Logistics Analyst will coordinate closely with dairy suppliers, transportation providers, customers, and plant operations to help maintain an efficient and reliable supply network. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems, coordinating logistics, and building strong business relationships. The position offers significant opportunity to develop expertise in dairy markets, milk sourcing, logistics, and supply planning, with potential growth into broader sourcing and supply leadership responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Support the daily sourcing, balancing, scheduling, and movement of milk, cream, and other dairy ingredients. Monitor daily milk supply and plant requirements to identify potential shortages, surpluses, or transportation needs. Coordinate transportation and delivery schedules with milk haulers, suppliers, customers, and plant operations. Assist with balancing incoming milk supply against production demand and available plant capacity. Track milk and dairy ingredient movements, volumes, inventory, and related supply information. Analyze supply, production, transportation, and market data to support business decisions. Identify opportunities to improve transportation efficiency, reduce unnecessary costs, and optimize dairy ingredient movements. Support spot-market opportunities involving milk, cream, and other dairy ingredients as business needs arise. Maintain regular communication with suppliers, haulers, customers, and internal stakeholders regarding supply and logistics requirements. Assist with resolving scheduling, transportation, supply, or delivery issues in a timely manner. Prepare reports, forecasts, and analyses related to milk supply, logistics, volumes, costs, and market activity. Partner with Operations, Production Planning, Finance, Quality, and other departments to support plant and business needs. Develop an understanding of dairy commodity markets, milk pricing, regional supply conditions, and industry trends. Maintain accurate records and documentation associated with milk supply and logistics activities. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to sourcing, transportation, supply planning, and operational efficiency. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. QualificationsQualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Agribusiness, Business, Economics, Finance, Agriculture, Dairy Science, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience in dairy, agriculture, food manufacturing, transportation, logistics, supply chain, or commodity markets is preferred. Candidates with strong analytical capabilities and relevant transferable experience will also be considered. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build effective working relationships with suppliers, haulers, customers, and internal teams. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Ability to respond effectively to changing supply, transportation, production, and customer needs. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Ability and willingness to learn dairy markets, milk pricing, sourcing strategies, and supply economics. Sound judgment and the ability to make timely decisions when addressing operational or logistical challenges. Self-motivated with a willingness to take ownership and grow within the organization.
