Job Summary

Responsible for the construction, operation and maintenance of all transmission and distribution station related equipment, in an assigned area. Responsible for the field activities to ensure compliance with NERC Reliability Standards. Also responsible to direct efforts during outages to return facilities to service and provide construction management and internal labor resources for transmission and distibution station capital projects.

Job Description

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Supervise and direct the activities of station employees as it relates to the operation and maintenance of all stations and related facilities and equipment. Provide construction management and internal labor resources for transmission and distribution station capital projects.

  • Direct the field activities to ensure compliance with NERC Reliability Standards.

  • Coordinates and ensures the maintenance and/or construction schedules for transformers, breakers and other station equipment is completed within budget and on time.

  • Directs efforts during outages to return facilities to service.

  • Supervises and coordinates assignment of overall station crew work and allocates personnel and equipment to obtain best efficiency in performance.

  • Responsible for scheduling and coordinating maintenance and or construction with plants, distribution, operations, customers and other affected parties regarding the operation and maintenance of stations.

  • Advise, assist and consult with other Transmission departments, Distribution departments and/or Plant departments on matters related to station facilities.

  • Provides input to the Technical Services support group for the development of an annual maintenance and/or construction plan and implements recommended best work practices.

  • Conducts meetings with employees and supervisors to provide information, entertain questions and provides feedback regarding employee concerns.

  • Promotes and enforces safety rules and practices. Recommends and provides training for assigned employees.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Education and work requirements are listed below: Prefer Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an ABET accredited university or college and a minimum of 8 years' of transmission field services, construction management or engineering work experience; OR, Associate's degree in electrical/mechanical/industrial maintenance technology and 12 years' of transmission field services, construction management or engineering work experience; OR high school graduate or equivalent education and 15 years' of transmission field services, construction management or engineering work experience.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Physical demand level is Sedentary

1) Typically manage an O&M budget of $2.5 to 5 million or a construction budget and an organization of 40 to 70 employees or is new to the position in a larger area.

2) Major enabling competencies: flexibility, customer focus, communication, creativity, initiative, planning and teamwork.

3) Required skills include interpersonal, technical, organizational, planning and leadership.

$136,539.00 - $177,503.00

The Physical Demand Level for this job is: S – Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
