As a PM Technician, you’ll play a critical role in keeping construction equipment operating safely, efficiently, and reliably in the field. What You’ll Do As a PM Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, servicing, and minor repairs on construction equipment. Your responsibilities will include: Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, servicing, and minor repairs on construction equipment. Service construction support equipment such as portable air compressors, welders, light plants, and related equipment. Travel to customer job sites to perform field service and maintenance. Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, including using a laptop and electronic diagnostic tools in the field. Perform oil changes and preventative maintenance in accordance with company requirements and OEM guidelines. Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and reassemble construction equipment and components. Process field-service work orders and obtain customer purchase orders as required. Open and close work orders accurately and in a timely manner. Answer service-related phone calls and assist customers with service needs. Communicate job status, progress, and any problems or additional repair needs to customers. Maintain accurate service documentation and professional customer relationships. Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe. Follow all company safety requirements and procedures. What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate is a dependable, hands-on mechanical professional who enjoys working in the field and solving equipment problems. Required qualifications: Minimum 1 year of mechanical experience. Experience servicing and repairing construction equipment. Diesel mechanic experience with knowledge of heavy construction equipment, or successful completion of a diesel mechanic program. Current CDL Class B. Current DOT Medical Card. Insurable driving record. MSHA certification, or the ability to become MSHA certified. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and equipment issues independently. Comfortable working outdoors and traveling to various job sites. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions This is an active, hands-on position that requires working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. You must be able to: Lift, push, pull, and carry 50–75 lbs. Bend, stretch, twist, reach, kneel, and work in various physical positions. Demonstrate strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Safely operate or work around forklifts, pallet jacks, indoor/outdoor cranes, and other shop equipment. Use tools such as torque wrenches and other mechanical equipment. Identify differences in equipment sounds and recognize potential mechanical issues. Visualize how components fit together and how parts should be positioned or reassembled.
