Job Description: Virtual Power Plant – VPP Jr. Field Project Engineer (TX – DFW Based) Position Summary:
The VPP Jr. Field Project Engineer is the technical field account representative and device troubleshooting expert for the sonnen family of products. While working primarily in the field, our VPP Jr. Field Project Engineer must have a deep understanding of the sonnen product, its application in the field, and how to resolve problems with hardware and software related errors. In addition, the VPP Jr. Field Project Engineer will perform project and partner management tasks as well as support functions on VPP sites assigned. Under the direction of their direct supervisor, the VPP Jr. Field Project Engineer will be responsible for implementing strategies and resolutions related to field technical services and accounts. This is a travel required position within the Texas and with up to 75% of daily time in the field and traveling. On site, the VPP Jr. Field Project Engineer will assist with technical training, system design implementation, system installations, error troubleshooting, and emphasis on case resolutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Travel to visit partners throughout Texas with light duties throughout the rest of the Eastern United StatesÂ
• Support internal team with technical training, installation and design support, and system troubleshootingÂ
• Resolve technical cases assigned by the engineer’s direct supervisor, using all available tools to solve problems and maintain high customer satisfactionÂ
• Answer incoming phone calls, messages and emails from our partners, support the inside operational staff, guiding them to resolve issues, and providing general supportÂ
• Project related management duties on assigned sites • Maintain key documentation as it relates to projects and ongoing activitiesÂ
• Maintain relationships with our Sales Engineering team to ensure growing product expertise and escalation support as requiredÂ
• Utilize Salesforce and other designated tools to document relevant call activity to ensure proper data capture, issue tracking, and customer-specific activitiesÂ
• Other duties as necessary to ensure high quality, proactive, customer focused service
Qualifications:
• 2+ years of technical product experience within solar, batteries, electronics, or technology industriesÂ
• 2+ years of experience in residential / commercial construction industries, emphasis on project management and partner supportÂ
• Strong oral and written skills and interpersonal communication skillsÂ
• Must have direct, hands-on experience working with power electronics and/or electrical installationsÂ
• Proven track record in team management and time bound, high-quality production projectsÂ
• "Problem Solver" mentality. Someone who loves to understand and resolve difficult problemsÂ
• Highly organized with the ability to clearly convey thoughts, schedules, generate reports, and update the team as requiredÂ
• Ability to understand complicated technical information and communicate such information to non-expertsÂ
• Enthusiasm, creativity, and a desire to learnÂ
• Intelligent, accountable, and self-assured mentality with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications:Â
• Bachelor's degree in business or technical related fieldÂ
• Strong interests in technology, renewable energy, and/or energy storage
