Position Summary

Fulcrum Technologies is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Control Coordinator to support all aspects of production planning, scheduling, and manufacturing execution. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate production schedules, coordinating customer commitments, monitoring capacity utilization, supporting inventory accuracy, and ensuring timely communication between Sales, Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Shipping.

The Production Control Coordinator will be cross-trained in multiple operational functions and will serve as a central point of coordination for production priorities, schedule management, and order execution. This role is an excellent opportunity for an operations professional seeking broad exposure to manufacturing planning and production control within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Create and maintain production schedules to support customer delivery commitments.
  • Coordinate manufacturing priorities across fabrication, machining, coating, assembly, and shipping operations.
  • Monitor schedule adherence and identify risks to on-time delivery.
  • Release, update, and manage work orders within the ERP system.
  • Communicate schedule changes and production priorities to department leaders.
  • Support weekly production meetings and provide schedule status updates.

Customer Commitments & Order Management

  • Track customer commitments and delivery requirements.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Project Management regarding order status and schedule changes.
  • Monitor open orders and ensure timely progression through manufacturing.
  • Communicate potential delivery risks and recovery plans.
  • Maintain accurate production tracking records and status reports.

Capacity Planning & Work Center Management

  • Assist with capacity planning activities across manufacturing departments.
  • Monitor labor utilization and workload balancing between work centers.
  • Support development and maintenance of standard labor estimates.
  • Analyze production constraints and recommend scheduling improvements.
  • Assist leadership in identifying bottlenecks and resource requirements.

ERP System Administration

  • Maintain accurate work order and routing information within the ERP system.
  • Audit production transactions, labor entries, and job status updates.
  • Support data accuracy initiatives related to production control and scheduling.
  • Assist in maintaining bills of material, routings, and planning parameters.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to support operational decision making.

Inventory & Material Coordination

  • Coordinate material availability with Purchasing and Inventory teams.
  • Monitor shortages and communicate impacts to production schedules.
  • Assist with inventory reconciliation and cycle count activities.
  • Support management of production kits and material staging activities.
  • Research and resolve inventory and material discrepancies.

Reporting & Operational Support

  • Prepare production performance reports and schedule metrics.
  • Track key performance indicators including on-time delivery and schedule attainment.
  • Maintain production control documentation and records.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives and operational projects.
  • Support internal audits and continuous improvement activities.

Cross-Training & Business Continuity

  • Develop proficiency in production planning, scheduling, inventory control, and ERP systems.
  • Provide backup support during planned and unplanned departmental absences.
  • Support succession planning by maintaining a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing operations.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related field; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing, production planning, scheduling, inventory control, or operations experience.
  • Experience working within an ERP/MRP system.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturing scheduling or production control experience.
  • ERP system experience (M1, ECI, Epicor, JobBOSS, SAP, or similar).
  • Experience with capacity planning and finite scheduling.
  • Experience supporting inventory management and purchasing coordination.
  • Experience using Power BI, Excel reporting tools, or operational dashboards.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Strong understanding of production planning and manufacturing workflows.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and material management principles.
