Join Our Team!

We have an immediate need for full-time Porter to join our team at The Six, one of United Group’s professionally managed multi-family apartment communities located in downtown Troy, NY. This is a mixed-use property consisting of both residential and commercial spaces. Daily:

• Vacuums / mops all common area carpet and tile floors
• Trash removal for residential apartments 
• Cleans all glass in the vestibules of all buildings as needed or upon request
• Cleans all common area restrooms as needed or upon request 
• Performs additional cleaning duties throughout the day as needed or assigned 

Weekly:

• Sweeps all stairwells
• Vacuums, sweeps, dusts all common / hospitality spaces 
• Cleans trash rooms and trash cans
• Vacuums and dusts all offices
• Spot checks areas as assigned for additional cleaning needs 

Additional Items:

• All windows in the building are to be cleaned inside and out, twice per year or upon request 
• All common area carpeting is to be cleaned, twice per year or more frequently upon request 
• Maintains the inventory of all cleaning products
• Maintains all cleaning equipment and have serviced at appropriate times
• Assists in the cleaning of vacant units
• Assists in other items as needed, i.e. landscaping, minor maintenance items, grounds maintenance, painting, and being available for emergency situations

Physical Demands + Work Environment 

• Must be able to stand/walk for 8 to 10 hours.
• Frequent body movements including ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, squat, reach, push, and pull. 
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors during various weather conditions.
• Frequently may be exposed to outdoor spaces, service areas, or other environments which will, by their nature, have variances in air quality, temperature, walking surfaces, lighting, and other physical aspects. 
• Potential exposure to substances such as paints, cleaning agents, chemicals, etc. which may be considered irritants.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform essential functions

Job Overview + Requirements

• Job Type: Porter; Non – Exempt $20 per hour plus bonus incentive program 
• Work Hours: Full Time, Tuesday - Saturday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (Mondays & Sundays scheduled off unless otherwise directed)
• Training for Position: preventative maintenance, safety, and related.
• Physical Requirements: standing, kneeling, lifting, carrying
• Required Education: High School Diploma; applicable Work History. 
• Required Experience: 1 + years of experience in residential property maintenance is preferred. Experience with professional cleaning/general housekeeping; light maintenance preferred but not required. 
• Qualities: Demonstrates integrity on a personal and professional level; ability to solve problems involving maintenance, safety, and challenging situations.
