We currently have an opening for a Engineer ll,  in our Troy, Ohio location. This is 100% on-site and no relocation is available. 

Summary:

1)         Purpose:  Mechanical and Equipment. Provides plant level support for mechanical equipment within capital project group.  Leads Clopay efforts in setting standards and insuring performance for manufacturing equipment.

  • Dimensions: Introduction of new manufacturing technology with projects.   

 Responsibilities/Principal Duties:



Responsibilities include:

 

  • Be a part of a team that defines project scope, budget and objectives.
  • Contribute in development of equipment specifications for capital equipment projects.
  • Manage equipment improvement projects from startup to completion.
  • Project management and tracking for content/schedule/budget/plant safety
  • Writing of justifications and proposals
  • Manage vendors and contractors
  • Provide project updates regularly to stakeholders.
  • Reviewing/providing feedback/approving equipment design
  • Confirm all as built drawings and documentation line side
  • Research and develop equipment improvement projects, safety, machine efficiency, modernization, reduce manpower, increase capacity etc
  • Develop machine timing charts
  • Provide plant level support for equipment
  • Work closely with other plant support and production personnel

 

While this position focuses on mechanical aspects of the aforementioned equipment, daily support of said equipment will be required. 

Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Because this position is designated as “Senior Level”, experience in the following areas is required:

 

  • Experience supporting production equipment on day to day basis.
  • Experience concepting and equipment design for capital projects
  • Experience managing capital projects from start to finish
  • Experience using data to drive results.
  • Experience in organizing and leading matrix teams to complete successful projects on time and within budget constraints
  • Experience in troubleshooting production equipment.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Knowledge of CNC programming and fixture design is a plus
  • Experience with 3D modeling and 2D drafting AutoCad , Inventor preffered
  • Knowledge of Simulation Modeling software
  • Understand OSHA, ANSI

 


  1. Education: BSME

  2. Experience: At least 4-7 years' experience including engineering, and hands on plant/equipment level support.

  3. Physical Requirements:
    • May travel to equipment vendors. (Up to 15%)
    • Regularly spends long hours on the production floor. (Up to 80%)
