JOB TITLE:Â SALES & MARKETING DATABASE SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
REPORTS TO: Director of Sales & Marketing Business Systems
JOB CLASSIFICATION: Full-time
LOCATION: Travelers Rest, SC (hybrid)
JOB SUMMARY:
We're looking for a Salesforce Administrator who is naturally curious and learning-oriented; someone who takes the time to understand how a business process actually works before building a solution for it and enjoys picking up new systems and workflows across departments. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating solo or as part of a small, lean team: able to take full ownership of a project from scoping through execution, while also being a collaborative team player who communicates well with stakeholders at every level. Strong problem-solving abilities, experience with Salesforce configuration in a customized environment, and excellent communication skills round out the profile.
This role is based in our Travelers Rest, SC office and requires in-office presence at least one day per week, with more presence required for onboarding. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Provide day-to-day user support, including assistance with log-ins, technical issues, functionality enhancement requests, and managing user access at both object and record levels.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for users of database systems, proactively learning internal stakeholders' responsibilities and business processes to enhance user experience and training.
- Maintain database systems documentation and keep tickets and user stories up to date.
- Facilitate training sessions for users and support rollouts of new or updated features and tools.
- Audit and execute security and data integrity initiatives.
- Prepare and execute data uploads and exports.
- Develop declarative components in Salesforce to meet specific business needs.
- Update content access to enhance user experience, focusing on page layouts and Lightning Pages for both Desktop and Mobile.
- Collaborate with Developers and Outside Consultants to coordinate timelines and project requirements.
- Design, build, and maintain declarative automation (Flow) that aligns with business processes and established best practices, including migrating legacy automation logic where needed.
- Create and maintain user-oriented training materials for Sales & Marketing database systems.
- Conduct testing and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new and existing projects.
- Maintain, design, and audit reports and dashboards in Salesforce and our BI Platform.
- Own individual projects end-to-end, escalating and collaborating with the Director of Sales & Marketing Business Systems as needed.
- Ensure confidentiality across all records within the databases.
- Limited travel for training and stakeholder meetings
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Systems, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience as the sole Salesforce Administrator, or one of a very small team that supported an org with a complex configuration. Supporting multiple brands/business units is a plus.
- Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator (201) is required. Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator II (211) is a plus.
- Two to three years of experience in a related position is preferred, including experience as a sole or primary system administrator, or as part of a small/lean team, with full ownership of the database systems lifecycle.
- Proficiency in administering core Salesforce functions and the Lightning UI, including user management, roles and permissions, custom objects, page layouts, custom fields, and approval processes using Flow.
- Solid understanding of Salesforce data modeling and platform architecture.
- Ability to utilize Excel to support reporting, database audit, and maintenance needs.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace is preferred.
- Experience with HubSpot is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in both oral and written American English.
SKILLS:
- Knows when the simple and good solution is better than the complex and perfect solution, keeping technical debt top of mind.
- Comfortable with ambiguity, you can take a loosely defined request and turn it into a scoped plan.
- Able to switch between multiple concurrent projects and stakeholders without losing quality or missing deadlines.
- Highly curious and learning-oriented, with a genuine interest in understanding how different business processes work before building or automating around them.
- Comfortable working independently or in a small team, with the ability to own a project, including researching the problem/solution, from start to finish while knowing when to loop in others.Â
- Strong organizational and prioritization abilities to meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks.
- Capacity to deliver high-quality work efficiently in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior in interactions with staff and vendors, promoting an inclusive workplace atmosphere.
- Contributes to the effectiveness and efficiency of the sales and marketing teams by providing constructive suggestions and actively participating as a team member.
