About the Role:

The Solderer I plays a critical role in the manufacturing and assembly process by performing precise soldering tasks to join electronic components and wiring. This position ensures the integrity and functionality of electronic assemblies by applying soldering techniques, such as thru-hole and surface mount, according to established specifications and quality standards. The role requires attention to detail to identify and correct defects, contributing to the overall reliability of the final product. The Solderer I collaborates closely with quality control and engineering teams to maintain production efficiency and meet delivery deadlines. Ultimately, this position supports the company’s commitment to producing high-quality electronic products that meet customer expectations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of electronic components and soldering techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and schematics.
• Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
• Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment and follow safety protocols.
• Certification in soldering techniques (e.g., IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001) or ability to obtain and maintain such certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in soldering or electronics assembly.
• Familiarity with both through-hole and surface mount technology (SMT) soldering.
• Experience using inspection tools such as microscopes or magnifiers.
• Basic knowledge of quality control processes and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform manual and/or automated soldering of electronic components on printed circuit boards (PCBs) following detailed work instructions and blueprints.
• Inspect solder joints for quality and adherence to specifications using visual aids such as magnifiers or microscopes.
• Identify and troubleshoot soldering defects, rework assemblies as necessary to meet quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality goals.
• Document work performed and report any issues or deviations to the appropriate personnel.

The required skills enable the Solderer I to accurately and efficiently join electronic components, ensuring strong and reliable connections essential for product performance. Attention to detail and manual dexterity are critical for producing high-quality solder joints and identifying defects early in the process.
