Why You’ll Love This Role:

  • As the Packaging Engineer, you will be responsible for driving operational improvement, packaging strategy, and optimization
  • You will lead cross-functional initiatives that improve packaging solutions, part protection, inventory performance, throughput, and cost efficiency
  • You will partner closely with Materials, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics, and Business systems teams to develop scalable solutions, improved part damage metrics, and support business growth

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the development and execution of packaging strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Establish and monitor KPIs related to part damage improvement through new packaging and handling solutions
  • Deploy a packaging and handling strategy for the business, that can be rolled out across all areas of the business, including external supply base
  • Work closely with the product development teams to design packaging solutions for new products and car line
  • Facilitate value stream mapping for packaging, process standardization, and best-practice deployment across multiple sites or business units
  • Partner with supply chains, warehouse and production teams to improve material protection, minimal touch of materials to preserve the quality of the parts
  • Optimize end-to-end packaging flow through the supply base, manufacturing, warehousing, and production delivery
  • Establish packaging performance dashboards and reporting tools
  • Develop data-driven decision-making frameworks to understand what will drive the biggest benefit to the business through solutions suggested
  • Create business cases to define benefit of packaging solutions to gain business approval
  • Lead and coach the wider teams on the benefits of providing robust packaging solutions
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making
  • Manage cross-functional and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels
  • Develop suitable packaging solutions that represent the business, ensuring they are both functional, but in keeping with the Singer Values

Who We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Five (5) years of related work experience, including at least three (3) plus years of related experience as Packaging Engineer, Packaging Development, Process Engineer or equivalent
  • Proficiency in CAD
  • Experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing
  • Prior experience in rapid growth environment
  • Experience of working in a start-up environment

The starting pay range for this position is between $104,344.00 - $130,429 annual salary, plus bonus. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
