Role Overview

The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor will lead Aero Electronics' Manufacturing Engineering team and help scale our manufacturing operations as the business grows. This role combines people leadership with hands-on manufacturing engineering, with a focus on improving throughput, capacity, quality, and operational efficiency.

You'll work closely with Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, and Engineering to solve production challenges, improve manufacturing processes, and establish scalable systems and best practices. You'll also have the opportunity to shape how the Manufacturing Engineering function develops as the organization grows.


What You’ll Do: 

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team through coaching, technical guidance, and hands-on support.
  • Set priorities, assign projects, and manage team workloads based on production and business needs.
  • Develop team capabilities in manufacturing engineering, Lean Manufacturing, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a collaborative and accountable environment across Manufacturing Engineering and Operations.

Manufacturing Engineering & Process Improvement

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for cable assemblies, wire harnesses, electromechanical products, and related products.
  • Identify and eliminate constraints affecting throughput, capacity, quality, and delivery.
  • Optimize production layouts, workflows, workstations, equipment placement, and material flow.
  • Establish standardized manufacturing processes, procedures, work instructions, BOMs, and best practices that support scalable operations.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives from opportunity identification through implementation.
  • Use manufacturing data and KPIs to identify trends, measure performance, and prioritize improvement opportunities.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing and production issues.
  • Develop and implement tooling, fixtures, equipment, and other manufacturing solutions to improve production capabilities.
  • Evaluate new equipment, technologies, materials, and processes to support operational growth.

Production & Operations Support

  • Serve as a technical resource and escalation point for manufacturing and production-related issues.
  • Partner directly with Production and Operations to troubleshoot process challenges and provide hands-on support on the manufacturing floor.
  • Support capacity planning, production flow, line balancing, and facility layout improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste, rework, scrap, downtime, and other sources of manufacturing inefficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Operations, Production, Quality, Engineering, and other functions to implement manufacturing improvements and resolve issues.
  • Work with Engineering to improve product manufacturability and support engineering changes.
  • Collaborate with Quality to identify and resolve process and product quality issues.
  • Participate in customer calls and provide manufacturing engineering expertise as needed.
  • Communicate project status, risks, recommendations, and results to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.


What You’ll Bring: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, ora relatedengineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering or related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading or mentoring engineers, technicians, production personnel, or other technical team members.
  • Experience implementing manufacturing process improvements with measurable results.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience improving manufacturing processes, production workflows, material flow, capacity, or facility layouts.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Experience using an ERP system and developing or maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Engineering, and other functions.


Bonus Points if You Have:

  • Experience with cable assemblies, wire harnesses, electromechanical assemblies, overmolding, or similar custom manufacturing.
  • Experience in a high-growth manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with DoD or aerospace and defense OEM manufacturing.
  • Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, IPC, or other applicable quality standards.
  • Experience with automation, tooling, fixtures, or manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience establishing and monitoring manufacturing KPIs.
  • Experience working directly with customers on technical or manufacturing-related matters.
  • Document Control experience.


Compensation Range:

$85,000 - $105,000/year
