Job Title: R&D Operator

Supervises: None

Department: R&D Product

Reports to: Senior Product Engineer

Location: Thousand Oaks, CA

FLSA:  Non-Exempt

 

General Overview: Under general direction from the Lab Lead, and in accordance with applicable policies and procedures, the role is responsible for conducting bat testing as necessary.


Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct product testing in the test lab

• Follow established test procedures

• Follow design instructions with a high degree of detail

• Complete work on time to maintain the flow of the department

• Organize and maintain a clean work area

• Assist in other R&D areas as requested

• Perform other tasks as needed to support the department

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High school diploma and familiarity with using computers

• Basic math skills and comfort working with numbers

• Comfort using a computer in the course of conducting tests

• Basic familiarity with measuring tools such as rulers, measuring tapes, calipers, and scales

• Ability to take measurements, use measurement tools, and record information accurately

• Use of cutting tools such as scissors, blades, and saws

• Ability to read technical instructions

• Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines

• Proven ability to manage time effectively during large peaks in work volume

• Ability to work and get along with others

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

 

Working Conditions: 

Physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable with minimal exposure to injury or other hazards.


Safety Hazards: 

Minimal exposure to injury or other hazards. Cutting tools such as scissors, blades, and saws may be used.



LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, athletes, coaches, parents, guardians, internal employees or organizations. Must have proven exceptional written presentation and verbal communication skills. Bilingual (Spanish & English) is preferred but not required.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Strong math aptitude with ability to interpret data analysis reporting


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
