Job DetailsJob Location: TEXARKANA, TX 75501Position Type: Full TimePOSITION SUMMARY The PMHNP delivers comprehensive psychiatric and behavioral health care, including psychotherapy, medication management, and crisis intervention. They work independently or in multidisciplinary care teams within outpatient clinics, hospitals, and community health centers to promote wellness and stabilize chronic or acute mental illnesses. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assessment & Diagnosis: Conducts comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, reviews medical and mental health histories, and orders diagnostic tests or lab work. Treatment Planning: Develops and implements individualized, patient-centered care and treatment strategies. Prescriptive Authority: Prescribes, adjusts, and manages psychotropic medications in accordance with state laws and practice guidelines. Psychotherapy & Counseling: Provides individual, group, or family psychotherapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and supportive counseling. Patient & Family Education: Educates patients and their families on mental health diagnoses, coping skills, medication side effects, and self-care. Care Coordination: Collaborates with physicians, social workers, and other health care professionals to integrate physical and mental health services.
