Position Overview:
Senior hands-on Business Analyst manager responsible for complex data analysis, BI reporting, healthcare financial and claims analysis, and cross-functional problem solving. Requires strong SQL skills, deep analytical ability, initiative, and the ability to lead a small team while remaining directly involved in the work. This role provides data-driven insights and recommendations that support operational, financial, and strategic decision-making across the organization.


 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze medical billing, claims, reimbursement, denials, and financial performance.
  • Work directly with Finance, Billing, Operations, IT, Sales, and other departments.
  • Identify revenue leakage, process failures, operational inefficiencies, and financial opportunities.
  • Translate business issues into clear analytical requirements and solutions.
  • Write complex SQL queries to analyze large and detailed datasets.
  • Develop and maintain BI reports, dashboards, KPIs, and operational metrics.
  • Maintain standards for data governance, KPI definitions, reporting methodologies, and analytical documentation.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to ensure consistent and reliable reporting across departments.
  • Maintain documentation of data source, calculations, report logic, and business definitions.
  • Identify emerging risks and opportunities through proactive analysis and business monitoring.
  • Measure and communicate the financial and operational impact of implemented solutions and recommendations.
  • Lead analytical initiatives from business problem identification engaging in implementation as appropriate.
  • Support prioritization of analytics and reporting initiatives based on business value and organizational objectives.
  • Automate repetitive reporting and analytical processes.
  • Validate data accuracy and investigate discrepancies.
  • Perform root-cause analysis on complex business and financial issues.
  • Question results that do not make business sense and investigate proactively.
  • Recommend practical solutions supported by data.
  • Drive identified issues through resolution and verify results.
  • Organize and manage multiple priorities, projects, and requests.
  • Manage a team of approximately 2-4 analysts or BI professionals, including work prioritization, coaching, performance feedback, development planning, and support with hiring and talent decisions.
  • Review team analysis, reporting, and SQL work for quality and accuracy.
  • Mentor team members in SQL, analytics, BI, and problem-solving.
  • Communicate findings clearly to both business and technical leadership.


 

Qualifications/Education:

  • 7+ years of Business Analysis, BI, strong data analysis, or related experience preferred.
  • Strong hands-on SQL skills required.
  • Strong experience analyzing large, complex relational datasets.
  • Significant healthcare financial, medical billing, claims, reimbursement, or revenue-cycle experience.
  • Familiarity with medical insurance plans, payer requirements, coverage rules, and documentation requirements.
  • Strong BI and reporting background; ideally strong with Power BI solutions, Qlik, or similar reporting technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Experience managing or leading a small analytical or BI team.
  • Experience developing executive-level dashboards, scorecards, and performance metrics preferred.
  • Experience with healthcare data governance, reporting standards, and data quality management preferred.
  • Advanced experience with power BI, data visulation, and business intelligence tools preferred. 
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Able to communicate complex findings in clear business terms.
  • College degree preferred; equivalent experience acceptable.

Working Conditions

  • Work performed in an office or remote professional environment. We are open to remote candidates however we are ideally looking for someone who can work during Central time zone.
  • Candidates who are local to the Oklahoma City, OK office are expected to work from the office on an as needed basis.
  • Minimal travel, if any, as required for business needs.
