About the Role:
The Building Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for employees, families, community partners, and visitors. This is a part-time position for 10 hours weekly with flexibility during hours of operation.聽 This position performs routine cleaning, sanitation and light maintenance, while ensuring that organizational buildings and common areas are maintained in accordance with established standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and takes pride in maintaining a professional and welcoming environment.聽
Responsibilities:
- 路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Clean and sanitize offices, classrooms, restrooms, common areas, kitchens, and other assigned spaces
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and clean floors and surfaces
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Empty trash and recycling and maintain appropriate disposal procedures weekly
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Clean and restock restrooms and other shared areas
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Clean windows, doors, fixtures, and other building surfaces as needed
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Disinfect frequently touched surfaces and areas in accordance with organizational procedures
Facility Support
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Monitor assigned areas for cleanliness, safety, and maintenance concerns
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Report on building repairs, damage, safety hazards, or supply needs to the appropriate supervisor
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Assist with room setup, breakdown, and movement of furniture or equipment as needed
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Assist with snow, ice, or other seasonal facilities assigned
Safety & Compliance
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Follow established cleaning, chemical-handling, and workplace safety procedures.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Properly use and store cleaning products, equipment, and supplies
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Follow organizational policies and procedures related to safety, security, confidentiality, and facility access
Customer Service & Teamwork
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Maintain a professional, respectful, and welcoming demeanor with staff, families, participants, and visitors.
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of individuals served by the organization.
Requirements:
- 路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping experience preferred
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Ability to work independently and manage assigned responsibilities
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Ability to safely operate basic cleaning equipment and supplies
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors
路聽 聽 聽 聽 聽Reliable attendance and punctuality
